三代錄系 國文長篇小說 硏究 : 男主人公 人物類型에 따른 作品 構成方式을 中心으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 三代錄系 國文長篇小說에 나타난 남주인공의 단위담을 통과의례적 일생을 바탕으로 분석하여 이원적 인물유형이 작품 구성방식의 근간임을 밝히고, 이원적 인물유형의 전개양상을 통해 작품 구성방식의 변모과정을 파악하여 그 소설사적 의의를 도출하고자 하였다.
정인군자와 영웅호걸의 이원적 인물유형은 17세기의 사회사적•문학사적 배경 아래 형성되었고, 이러한 이원적 인물유형에 따라 삼대록계 국문장편소설은 남주인공의 단위담을 ‘出生-成長談 → 婚姻談 ↔ 成就談 → 後日談’의 통과의례적 일생으로 구성하고 있다.
‘出生-成長談’은 남주인공의 운명과 인물성격을 예시해주었다. ‘婚姻談’은 ‘분리-고난-통합’이라는 통과의례적 구성방식에 따라 남주인공이 소년에서 진정한 家長으로 변모되는 과정을 다루고 있다. ‘成就談’은 설화의 ‘탐색담’ 구조를 계승하고 사대부 계층의 의식성향을 반영하여 ‘분리-능력발휘-통합’으로 구성되었고, 사대부 계층의 選民意識과 閥閱的 世界觀을 드러내고 있었다.
이러한 남주인공의 단위담은 이원적 인물유형에 따른 유형적 敍事로 구성된다. 먼저 정인군자 유형은 대체로 禁慾的이며 禮度와 道學을 중시하는 성격을 지니고, 이들의 단위담은 家禮에 따른 社會婚의 양상과 德性을 바탕으로 한 文人官僚의 성취로 구성된다. 다음으로 영웅호걸 유형은 대체로 風流的이며 愛慾과 功名을 추구하는 성격을 지니고, 慾望에 따른 個人婚의 양상과 武藝•兵法•道術 등을 통한 武人的 成就로 구성되었다.
그런데 삼대록계 국문장편소설은 중심갈등의 차이에 따라 <소현성록> 연작과 <현몽쌍룡기> 연작의 ‘婚事葛藤 中心 系列’과 <유효공선행록> 연작과 <성현공숙열기> 연작의 ‘繼後葛藤 中心 系列’로 구분되었다. 전체적으로 ‘婚事葛藤 中心 系列’은 가문을 위한 여성의 희생과 남성의 호색함을 당연시 여기는 남성 중심적 서술시각을 보여주었고, ‘繼後葛藤 中心 系列’은 남성적 가부장제의 폐해를 드러내고 여성성을 구현하는 등 여성 중심적 서술시각을 보여주었다. 이에 따라 ‘婚事葛藤 中心 系列’은 남주인공의 비범한 능력과 활약이 강조되었고, ‘繼後葛藤 中心 系列’은 여성들의 고난과 주체적 활약이 강조되었다. 이러한 차이를 바탕으로 ‘婚事葛藤 中心 系列’은 남주인공의 유형성이 강화되는 방향으로, ‘繼後葛藤 中心 系列’은 남주인공의 유형성이 약화되는 방향으로 이원적 인물유형의 소설사적 전개를 보여주었다. 이는 삼대록계 국문장편소설이 연작 계열에 따라 향유의식의 층위를 드러내고 있음을 의미하며, 또한 조선후기의 다원화된 세계관과 상대주의적 인식 경향을 바탕으로 한 국문장편소설의 다원적 展開 중 두 방향을 제시해주는 것으로 파악할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to elicit significance of its novelistic history by analyzing hero's 'unit story(單位擔)', which was shown in Samdaerokgye of Korean full-length novels, based on lifetime of the rite of passage, by clarifying that a dualistic character type is the basis of a work composition method, and by grasping the developmental process in a work composition method through the aspect of developing dualistic types of characters.
The dualistic character type in 'Jeongingunja(正人君子:ethical man)' and 'heroes(英雄豪傑)' was formed under the background of social history and literary history in the 17th century. Samdaerokgye of Korean full-length novels is forming hero's unit story according to this dualistic character type with the life of the rite of passage in ‘birth-growth story → marriage story ↔ achievement story → future story.’ In this unit story, ‘birth-growth story’ illustrates hero's destiny and character personality. ‘marriage story’ and ‘achievement story’ shows the passage-rite structure.
In hero's unit story, the ethical man type has personality of being abstinent and emphasizing courtesy and manner and Confucianism, thereby showing the aspect of social marriage according to the customary formalities of a family and achieving a literary official based on virtue. On the other hand, the hero type has personality of being elegant and pursuing love and lust and a glorious deed, thereby having shown the aspect of individual marriage and having achieved a military man through military arts•tactics•Taoist magic.
Samdaerokgye of Korean full-length novels was divided into 'the series of centering on marriage conflict', and 'the series of centering on succession conflict', depending on difference in the central conflict. Generally, ‘the series of centering on marriage conflict’ showed the male-centered narrative point of view, which regards it as natural for woman's sacrifice and man's amorousness for family. 'The series of centering on succession conflict’ showed the female-centered narrative point of view such as revealing an evil influence of masculine patriarchal system and implementing femininity. Based on this difference, the development of novelistic history in dualistic character type was indicated into the direction that ‘the series of centering on marriage conflict’ is strengthened hero's typical character and into the direction that 'the series of centering on succession conflict’ is weakened hero's typical character. This matter implies that Samdaerokgye of Korean full-length novels is revealing the layer of the enjoying consciousness according to the series. Also, it can be grasped to suggest two directions out of plural development in Korean full-length novel based on the pluralized view of the world and the relativist recognition tendency in the late Joseon dynasty.
