This study aim to provide fundamental data needed for finding out improvements of institutional systems and working conditions to improve empowerment and job satisfaction and decreasing in burnout of special education teachers by examining their empowerment, burnout and job satisfaction in special education schools located in P city and analyzing the relationship among them.
For that purpose, subjects being set in this study are as follows :
First, are there any difference of empowerment of special education teachers?
Second, are there any difference of burnout of special education teachers ?
Thirds, are there any difference of job satisfaction of special education teachers?
Fourth, are there any correlations among empowerment, burnout and job satisfaction?
The background factors of special education teachers are a sex, an age, career, the level of school, kind of school foundation, kind of his/her own handicap a religion, the number of students in a class.
To achieving this research purpose, a survey was conducted with 346 in special education teachers of 10 special schools in P city during July, 2012.
As research tools performed for 3 types of questionnaires were employed to measure empowerment, burnout and job satisfaction of special education teachers. And than, 250 questionnaires collected were used for this study.
Materials collected were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program, and frequency analysis, t-test or F-test and correlation analysis were performed.
The findings of the research are as follows :
First, special education teachers who are above 40 years of age and 10 years of career was a significant difference in it, when analyzing empowerment depending on their background.
Second, special education teachers who are teacher of a private school was a significant difference according to kind of school foundation when analyzing burnout depending on their background.
Thirds, there was no significant difference in all of background variables, when analyzing job satisfaction depending on their background.
Fourthly, when investigating the correlations among empowerment, burn out and job satisfaction of special education teachers, there was a negative correlation between empowerment and burnout, there was a positive correlation between empowerment and job satisfaction, there was a negative correlation between burnout and job satisfaction.
