周易의 言語와 체험경지에 관한 심리학적 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study approached the study of Zhou-yu from the psychological aspect. Zhou-yi pays attention to human psychological aspect exerted in Seobeom of I Ching (Book of Changes), which becomes a clue for an internal speculation from world view of Zhou-yu to the contemporary people who suffer from ‘Libido’s retrograde stagnation.’

Psychological contents can get its good reference from psychological theory of C.G. Jung. From the perspective of development stage of psychology of China, Zhou-yi psychology can be considered in the category of China’s ancient history of psychology established since the era of Confucius. According to the psychological essence of Zhou-yi, human being comes to acquire an ontological principle or subjective action method in specific interests such as good or ill luck or profit or loss in the real life.

Confucius scholars paid attention to how to take responsibility of what they said rather than whether their statements were objectively true or not. And, they interpreted language as a route to express the character of a person. Just as there is no characteristic of gentleness without courtesy, the practical method of making language to life or making life to language is derived from psychological foundation in that life is considered as an expression method of life.

For example, if there is a case of good condition with proper position of ‘good luck’ in Zhou-yi, ‘evil luck’ is a situation to ruin a thing because of losing proper location. While regret is a state of mind of repairing own wrongdoing due to losing proper location, stubbornness is a state of mind having no intention to repair ruining things. Such is based on psychological motivation too.

‘Libido’s retrograde stagnation’ appeared ‘perils of soul’ i.e. splitting of personality (loss of soul) and reduction of consciousness. The contemporary people feel a kind of pause - reduction of willingness and energy for life (libido is lost) or depression. Such individual situation can be expressed as a sense of anxiety that is related to good luck, evil luck, regret and stubbornness.

Therefore, the momentum expressed as the sign of heaven’s will under individual situations leads to our psychological problems. Here, people can find good clues for problems why we are inclined to be trapped in fatalism or necessitarianism in this complicated and desperate society from the psychological understanding of languages in fortune telling books. Furthermore, people can set a compass to obtain wisdom of determining a future oriented life.
