      Status of leveraging Smart learning
      teaching media in special education and survey of

      The purpose of this study is to look into the status of leveraging Smart learning teaching media in special education and the overall awareness of the teachers for the Smart learning teaching media and to analyze the requirements and improvement plans and to provide basic materials for composing the contents at a smart learning environment.
      In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, a questionnaire covering 232 special school teachers that are working at 14 special schools nationwide were taken as participants and the data gathered from such study went through a coding process and error reviewing task and by using the SPSS for Windows 18.0 program, it has been statistically processed and analyzed.
      The results from this study are as follows.
      First, in terms of analyzing the status of leveraging Smart learning teaching media, it has been found that the frequency of special school teachers’ usage of such smart learning teaching media in actual education activities was a little low. The Smart learning teaching media is not limited to a specific subject but has been used in various subjects and is effective in providing opportunities of motivation, improving concentration ability, repetitive practice and specific practice compared to previous classes. However, in terms of issues that need improvement are user unfriendliness such as the size of the screen and touch sensitivity etc, lack of smart devices that are already in the market, lack of education contents for disabled students.
      Second, it has been found that the special school teachers have an overall consensus of the necessity of leveraging the smart learning teaching media. However, the reason why the smart learning teaching media are not used widely in actual education activities is that the devices that are used in schools are limited and they do not consider the actual characteristics of the special school students and if such issues are to improved, more and more smart learning teaching media will be used in education activities.
      Third, upon analyzing the awareness of composing contents for smart learning, education contents should have the learner easily check and understand the target of its study and it should be composed so that the learner reacts or provides feedback for the contents. Also, it should fit the characteristics and expectation level of the learner and should provide various media that helps one understand its learning and should be composed in a way that effectively transcends the learning contents. Also, various multimedia factors that are needed in learning should be applied easily and conveniently and the interface of the learning screen should be easy to understand.
