In modern society, people try to actively use their good image to convey and to express their personality having an interesting in means of externalization.
Because of the resent trend in the beauty industry, personal color system which is presented to be matched with various body color, has been interesting and studying. However, when it could be applied to each individual, it had its demerit which was very difficult to verify the accuracy without a diagnosis methode of personal color or objective criteria about the region of the diagnostic. Therefore, this study was to be extracted an appraisal standard of colorimetry of face skin color having targets of 20s female college students in order to classify the type of personal color. The sensory evaluation and colorimetry was performed at the same time, also personal color types were analyzed according to the timing of changes to know the seasonal difference of skin color and face color. The results of this study are summarized as follows.
First, when it was reviewed the classification result according to warm and cold types through sensory evaluation and the property of face color according to types through colorimetry, higher yellowness (b*) was shown on the forehead than that on the cheeks also higher redness (a*) was shown on the cheeks than that on the forehead respectively.
Being reviewed the property of face color, cheeks color in the type of cold was brighter than in the type of warm and shown lower redness (a*) and lower yellowness (b*) respectively.
In addition, the result of discriminant analysis with the color variable of face color, yellowness (b*) and redness (a*) on the cheeks were abstracted as color variable affected to classify the types, also the yellowness (b*) on cheeks was examined as the most significant influence variable. The higher yellowness (b*) and redness(a*) on the cheeks, the probability belong to the type of warm was higher, but the lower yellowness (b*) and redness(a*), the probability belong to the type of cold was higher.
Second, the result of examining the characteristic of face color and skin color by parts and seasonal changes in May and in October, the characteristic of face color and on inner forearm and outer forearm were generally brighter than forehead, cheeks and jaw in May and shown lower redness (a*), on the other hand, the color of forehead, cheeks and jaw was darker than skin parts and shown higher redness (a*). The characteristic of skin color in October, it was most bright on the inner forearm and shown lower redness (a*) and yellowness ( b*) but the color of forehead, cheeks and jaw of facial parts were dark compare with inner forearm and shown higher redness (a*) and yellowness (b*).
Unlike in May, skin of outer forearm was darker than the cheeks and jaw, the facial parts. The result of surveying the face color and the skin color by seasonal changes, the color change on the inner forearm and on the skin of inner forearm were significantly greater than that of facial parts.
The result of assorted personal color types in May and in October, in accordance with extracted colorimetric evaluation standard, the group, unchanged personal color type by seasons was 81,4% and the other group, changed personal color type by seasons was 18.6%. The change of yellowness (b*) in the group, changed color type, was greater than that of unchanged group, 32.6% of targets was changed in May and 29% of targets was changed in October among the targets appertaining to D -0.34 <D <1.26.
Third, the sensory evaluation and the colorimetric evaluation was performed by organizing a consulting group based on the result of colorimeric in May in order to verify the significance of colorimetric ratings, the result of the agreement was consistent with 83.6%. Also, D values ??of the discrepancies target was within ?0.34<D<1.26, in the case of D<-0.34 or D>1.26, the match probability of colorimetric evaluation and sensory evaluation was very high.
This study has an important meaning to be presented new colorimetric methode to address the demerit of the colorimetric evaluation and the sensory evaluation.
The results of this study is expected to be useful in the systematic and objective diagnosis of the personal color and professional development training.
