Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the mediating effect of organizational citizenship behavior between job embeddedness and turnover intention in the haspital nurse.
Method: Data were collected from 241 nurses in 3 tertiary hospitals and 2 secondary hospitals in Daegu and analyzed by descriptive statistics, pearson's correlations and structural equation madel(SEM) using the PASW 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 program. The data were conducted form 13th March to 31th March in 2012. Research tools were composed of job embeddedness, organizational citizenship behavior, turnover intention.
Results: The mean value of were as follows: job embeddedness 3.02, organizational citizenship behavior 3.38, turnover intention 3.70. There were negative relationship between job embeddedness and turnover intention, organizational citizenship behavior and turnover intention but positive relationship between job embeddedness and organizational citizenship behavior. There was a partial mediating effect of organizational citizenship behavior between job embeddedness and turnover intention.
Conclusions: This study confirmed that organizational citizenship behavior had a mediating effect on the relationship between job embeddedness and turnover intention in haspital nurses. To promote job embeddedness and reduce turnover intention, enhancing organizational citizenship behavior is required.
