This study's purpose is to analyse the power structure of South Korea in 1945-1948 as the beginning point of modern political power structure. The structure in American military government period is formed by interaction between interna-tional situation, i.e., the cold war and internal power groups.

First, I analysed the situational conditions of the for-mming process of power structure. The external condition is American purpose of Korean Occupation with which the super power aimed to construct a anti-left, anti U.S.S.R. and friendly government with America. And the internal condition is the anti-revolutionary chracter of police and bureaucracy which were helpers of Japanese rule.

Second, I classified five actors which had anticipated in the formming process of power stucture in these conditions:

1st, Rhee Syng-man group which had fought for Korean Indepen-dence through deplomacy with western countries, and had orien-tation to American democracy with long experience of being educated in America, have no organizational ground in Korea; 2nd, Korean Democratic Party as a Kim Song-su group, which had weak authority grounded on nationality, have big organizations and much money; 3rd, Kim Ku group which had fough for Inde-pendence with Korean provisional government in China, but as a sort of coalition government of many defferent orientated groups, have no organizational ground; 4th, Yo Un-hyung group which have the strong organization, "Committee for The Prepara-tion of Korean Independence, is moderate-left group, 5th, Pak Hun-yong group which have organizational linkage with farmers and laborers is communist group.

Lastly, I analysed the formming process of Political power structure by classifying the period three; In 1945.8 1945.12, As "Authority Rivalry Period," American military government had began, and each political power groups had tried to cons-1946.6. As" truct power ground for each group, In 1945.12 Cleavalage between Left and Right Period," the left wings and right wings fought against each other for Trusteeship; In 1946, 6 1948, 8, as "The government of only South Korea Construct Period", Rhee group, and Kim Song-su group seized the power with help of American Military government.
