It is a major trend that the Health Care Industry markets are rapidly expanded due to population aging, increasing incomes, strengthening assurance of health insurance and so on.
Hospitals, holding a large majority in the Health Care Industry, are an organization which offers medical service to patients by collaborating professional health care workers in various fields, such as doctors, medical technicians, nurses, administrative staff, et cetera.
Nurses capture 40 percents of specialized hospital workers and provide most of health care service and treatment which the workers give to patients. Therefore, it is an essential key for hospitals to increase the productivity of nurses so as to enhance efficiency and competitive of operating hospitals.
This study is researched on job satisfaction, job stress, burnout, and organizational citizenship behavior connected with productivity, in order to contribute to improving nurses’ productivity. 576 survey questions were sent to nurses who works at 20 different hospitals located in Seoul, Kyounggi and Chungchengnam-do and 558 questiones returned .
The number of subjects in this study is 576 persons stayed at four multiplexes, among which we obtained valid responses from 558 persons through questionnaire investigation. Reliability was checked using Chronbach's alpha. We held hypotheses for the relationships, and for the testing, used methods are Spearman's correlation, Mann-Whitney test, etc, and for statistical analysis, SPSS 20.0 software was used. Thus, we found statistically significant results(p<0.01) as follows:
First, looking at the relationship between job satisfaction and productivity, the relation between specialization of nursing and productivity is positive. Looking at the relationship between job satisfaction and counter-productivity, the relation between medical organization and absence is positive, and the relation between medical organization, specialization of nursing, communication and turnover is positive.
Secondly, looking at the relationship between job stress and productivity, the relation between job stress and productivity is not significance. Looking at the relationship between job stress and counter-productivity, the relation between job stress and absence is not significance, and the relation between lack of support and turnover is positive.
Thirdly, looking at the relationship between burnout and productivity, the relation between emotional exhaustion and productivity is negative, and the relation between personal accomplishment and productivity is positive. Looking at the relationship between burnout and counter-productivity, the relation between personal accomplishment and absence is negative, and the relation between emotional exhaustion and turnover is positive, but the relation between personal accomplishment and turnover is negative.
Fourthly, looking at the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and productivity, the relation between organizational citizenship behavior and productivity is positive. Looking at the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and counter-productivity, the relation between organizational citizenship behavior and absence, turnover is negative.
