소고춤 체험을 통한 다문화가정 아동의 한국문화 적응

The purpose of this study was to investigate the adaptational process and to Korean culture and its reality of children from multi-cultural families through Korean traditional Sogo dance program. Literature review and interview were conducted together for the study, and 9 students including 6 girls and 3 boys from multi-cultural families who are in 4 or 5th grade at J elementary school located in Guro-gu, Seoul were selected as research participants.
The followings were the result of this study.
First, by studying the essentials and meanings of Sogo dance experience program, we realized that children from multi-cultural families who participated in the research not only showed interest in Korean culture after experiencing the program but also found joy in school life. That is, most students have positive perception towards Korean traditional Sogo dance.
Second, through the analysis of adaptation process to Korean culture, the Sogo dance experience is verified as an essential education program for the multi-cultural society since, beyond as a movement education. It enables cultural communication and is a proper medium to understand and communicate with a comprehensive culture through the dance.
Third, the analysis of reality of adaptation to Korean culture showed that the Sogo dance program is an opportunity for the children to recognize Korean society again after learning the value of Korean traditional dance as a heritage for cultural transmission. Also, it was verified that the program would be effective for the children to recognize the concept of tradition, our heritage, the value of traditional culture, their presences as Koreans, and to inspire national pride.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 소고춤 프로그램을 통해 다문화 가정의 자녀들이 한국문화에 적응하는 과정과 실체를 고찰하고, 한국 소고춤 프로그램의 효과성을 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다.
연구를 위해 문헌고찰과 인터뷰를 통한 실증분석을 병행하였고, 서울시 구로구에 위치한 J 초등학교에 재학중인 4·5학년 학생들 중 다문화가정의 여학생 6명, 남학생 3명으로 총 9명을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 이에 대한 분석결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 소고춤 수행체험의 본질과 의미를 파악한 결과, 본 연구에 참여한 다문화가정 자녀들이 프로그램에 참여한 후 춤을 통해 대부분 한국문화에 대한 관심과 흥미를 가질 뿐만 아니라 학교생활의 즐거움도 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 한국무용에 대해 대부분의 학생들이 긍정적으로 인식하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다.
둘째, 한국문화에의 적응과정을 분석한 결과, 소고춤이 움직임 교육의 차원을 넘어 문화소통을 가능하게 할 수 있으며 무용을 통하여 총체적인 문화를 이해하고 소통하는 데 적합한 매개체가 된다는 점에서 다문화 사회에 필요한 교육 프로그램이라는 사실을 검증할 수 있었다.
셋째, 한국문화 적응의 실체를 분석한 결과, 연구 참여자들이 소고춤을 통해 문화전승의 유산으로서 한국무용의 가치를 배우게 됨으로써 한국사회에 대해 다시 고찰할 수 있는 기회를 가지게 된 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 전통에 대한 인식과 우리의 것, 우리의 문화에 대한 소중함을 일깨우고 더불어 자신이 한국인임을 알게 되고, 민족적 자긍심을 고취시키는데 효과적이라는 것을 검증할 있었다.
