Being performed targeting the Vocational high school students to review the effect of career-decision-making type, self-efficacy in career-decision-making, self-esteem, anxiety -which they perceive - on maladjustments in their school lives, and based on this review in order to enable the students to adjust themselves to their school lives, this study is aiming at providing conceptional frame to develop the various career-counselling-programs useful for the career counselling as well as providing career guidance with the consideration of all the situation surrounding individual student in implementing the education for career decision making.
The topics established and related with the aim of this study are as follows. Research topic 1: What relations are there among the effects of career-decision-making type, self-efficacy in career decision-making, self-esteem, anxiety, maladjustments in school lives of Vocational high school students? Research topic 2: Do the effects of career-decision-making type, self-efficacy in career-dicision-making, self-esteem, anxiety of Vocational high school students influence the individual maladjustments in their school lives? Research topic 3: Do the effects of career-decision-making type, self-efficacy in career-dicision-making, self-esteem, anxiety of Vocational high school students influence the relative maladjustments in their school lives?
In order to verify such topics a survey was made in this study targeting 950 male and female freshmen vocational track high school students located in Cheonan of south Chungcheong province to select 685 students as the final target of this study. The Checking the Assessment of Career Decision making, Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form(CDMSES-SF), Self-Esteem Scale, State Anxiety Checklist was selectively used among the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), maladjusted activities in school life as a test too.
The analysis of collected data was done by using SPSS 18.0 through reliability analysis, frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results and discussions in accordance with the research topics established in this study are briefed as follows. To put together these results, the effects of career-decision-making type, self-efficacy in career-dicision-making, self-esteem, anxiety, maladjustments in school life have positive- negative correlation. And it was found that all the effects of career-decision-making type, self-efficacy in career-dicision-making, on maladjustments in school life even though it is insignificant.
