대학 강의 지원을 위한 학습관리시스템의 활용과 사용자 만족도에 관한 연구 = A Study of Utilization and Satisfaction of a Learning Management System for Supporting Lectures in University

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내 4년제 대학교에서 학습관리시스템에 대한 사용자들의 활용 현황과 만족도를 분석하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 K대학교의 학습관리시스템을 사용하는 교수자 100명과 학생 309명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 구체적인 연구내용은 첫째, 교수자와 학생의 학습관리시스템에 대한 활용 빈도와 만족도, 만족 또는 불만족의 이유, 강의에 도움이 되는 정도를 분석하였으며 둘째, 학습관리시스템의 기능별 활용도와 필요도를 살펴보고 활용도와 필요도간에 차이를 분석하였다. 셋째, 현재 시스템에 대한 사용자들의 개선사항과 추가사항을 살펴봄으로써, 향후 학습관리시스템의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다.
연구결과, 교수자의 활용 정도와 만족도가 학생보다 높았으며 두 집단 모두 강의에 학습관리시스템을 활용하는 것이 도움이 된다고 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 기능별 활용도와 필요도는 강의계획서, 공지사항, 학습자료실 등의 일부 기능에서 높은 것으로 나타났으며 대부분의 기능에서 활용도와 필요도 간에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 현재 시스템에 대한 개선사항 서버의 안정화, 파일 업로드 속도의 개선을 가장 많이 응답하였고, SMS기능, 학습 블로그, 비밀 글 작성 기능을 추가기능으로 응답하였다.
연구를 통해 살펴본 결과, 학습관리시스템에서 지원하는 여러 기능 가운데 실제 활용은 교수자의 일방적인 강의내용 전달과 관련된 일부 기능에 국한되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 반면 사용자가 지각하는 개선 필요사항은 매우 높게 나타나고 있었다. 따라서 대학은 보다 효과적으로 교수․학습 상황을 지원하기 위해 사용자들이 필요로 하는 기능을 분석하고 이들의 요구에 부합할 수 있는 개선방안을 모색해야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the use of the learning management system and the satisfaction level of the users at a domestic four-year university. The subjects in this study were 100 professors and 309 students who had ever used the learning management system. The specific research topics were as follows: The first was to investigate the frequency of utilizing the LMS among the professors and students, their satisfaction level, the reasons for satisfaction or dissatisfaction, and the usefulness of the LMS for lectures. The second was to examine user's utilization and necessity of functions of the LMS, and to analyze the gap between the level of utilization and necessity. The third was to provide future directions of the system by examining the opinions of the users on what improvements should be made in the system and what functions should be added.
The results of this study were as follows:
The professors used the LMS more than students, and they had more satisfaction than students. Both groups considered the use of the LMS to be useful for lectures. As for the utilization and necessity of the different sorts of the LMS functions, they used the LMS to post syllabi, notice, and learning materials and they felt more need for those functions. There were statistically significant differences between their utilization and necessity of the most functions of the LMS. Finally, the stabilization of the server and the improvement of the upload speed were the primary opinions for improvements to the system. And SMS, learning blog and confidential writing function were the main opinions on additional functions of the system.
The findings of the study illustrated that although there were multiple functions in the LMS, just several functions were put to use, which were linked to giving lectures by the professors. On the other hand, the users perceived that there were many things that needed improvement in the LMS. Therefore, the university should try to provide more efficient assistance for college education by accurately analyzing the needs of users for the functions of the LMS and by seeking ways of satisfying their needs.
