This study analyzed travel writing of Mt. Jiri in the Jo-seon Dynasty. The translation compared with the original for the purpose and schedule and behavior of such travels. Also, through the original analyzing, grasped kind of tree at that time. And analyzed the ultimate value of traveling about 20 traveling writings of Mt. Jiri.
Travelers considered that climbing was a different way of study. So, they were traveled mountain. Most of travelers was visited Chunwang-Bong that was known as the highest peak in the Mt. Jiri. During the travels, temples were used as inn. At the same time, travelers used to drink, dance and versify. Travel writing showed various flora that were 16 kinds of herb and 44 kinds of arbor.
Next, for the investigation of the ultimate value of traveling depicted a value map for the 20 traveling writings and analyzed it. In expressing the value map set the cut-off level at 4 based on the ratio of activated cells to all connections. The connection of these attributes, consequences and values(A-C-V) is as follows. 'Natural resources of the Mt. Jiri' and 'Visiting of specific place'(18 and 6 times) leads to 'Natural landscape Viewing'(24 times), which results in 'The love of natural land'(16) as the ultimate value. Also, 'Mount'(11 times) and 'Guide of the native and the buddhist'(10 times) and 'Meeting of the native'(10 times) lead to 'moving convenience'(31 times), 'Meeting of the native'(11 times) and 'Providing room and board'(12 times) lead to 'Reinforcement of ties'(23 times), 'Meeting of the native'(16 times) and 'Providing room and board'(9 times) and 'naturural resources of the Mt. Jiri'(8 times) lead to 'Amusement action'(33 times), which result in 'Improving quality of life'(60) as the most ultimate value.
