TV토론의 수사학 : 2011.4.27 강원도지사 보궐선거 과정 분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 2011년 강원도지사 보궐선거에 출마한 두 후보(엄기영,최문순)의 TV토론회를 분석대상으로 삼았다. 4차례의 TV토론을 페럴만(Perelmann)의 신수사학에 입각하여, 선거 진행과정에서 후보자들이 어떤 수사학적 전략을 사용했는지를 분석했다. 이를 위해 첫째, 유사 논리적 논증에 의한 양립 불가능성 둘째, 논증구조와 논거형식 셋째, 비유와 은유 등 세 가지 분석모델을 수립했다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 선거진행 과정에 따라 각 후보자들의 수사학적 전략이 어떻게 달라지는지를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 두 후보의 양립불가능성에 대한 공방은 토론회가 거듭되면서 점차 증가하였다. 특히 두 후보의 지지율 격차가 줄어들면서 양립불가능성에 대한 공방이 더욱 심화됐는데, 이는 TV 토론회가 정책 대결 보다는 후보 검증이 주를 이루었다는 것을 반증한 결과이다. 논증구조 면에서는 최문순 후보가 엄기영 후보보다 유권자를 설득하기 위해 적합한 전략을 구사했으며, 상대적으로 엄기영 후보는 논거보다는 주장만 제시하는 경우가 많았다. 논거제시 면에서도 최문순 후보가 엄기영 후보 보다 체계적으로 논거를 제시했음을 관찰할 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims at analyzing a TV debate of the two candidates(Eom Giyeong, Choi Munsun) at the by-election of Gangwon-do governor in last April 2011. The TV debate with four times was based on new-rhetoric by Perelmann, I inquiried out what kind of rhetorical strategies they used during an election campaign. In order to this, I established the analysis models, it is as in the following. The first, incompatibility by quasi-logical arguments, second, arguments on the structure and basis of an arguments, third, analogy and metaphor. To achieve the purpose of this study, I looked into how their rhetorical strategies were changed as the election campaign progressed. the analysis showed that incompatibility of the two candidates was increasing gradually, especially, that incompatibility was further deepening when the interval of the approval rate was decreasing. The result disproved that TV debate was dominated by candidate's verification more than policy battles. In a way of structure of demonstration, Choi Munsun presented more suitable strategies to persuade electors on the other hand, Eom Giyeong used opinions than arguments. Also, I could read off that Choi presented arguments more systematic than Eom.
