The purpose of this study is to provide and strengthen the fundamental research data which makes the child tea manner teaching programs performed more effectively in home and the child training facilities, by investigating the recognition and demand for such education of the mothers which send their children to the child training facilities.
The samples used for this study were the mothers in Taejeon City in Sugu who lives with 3~5 years old children. For these samples, total 655 survey questionnaires were distributed. Of the collected answers, 24 samples were excluded because the answers were not appropriately made, and the rest 386 samples were used for final analysis.
The collected data was statistically processed by using SPSS 17.0, and processing conducted includes frequency analysis, recursive analysis, t-validation, distribution analysis, correlation analysis. The summary of the research result is as follows;
Firstly, the analysis of the experience and interest in the Tea Manner Education showed that 44.3% of those questioned about experience in Tea Manner answered “Yes”, but only 7.0% of those questioned about interest in Tea Manner Education answered “Very high”, 28.8% of them answered “Somewhat high”. Overall 35.8% of the respondents are interested in Tea Manner Education.
The result showed that all of those who have experienced tea manner education are not positively interested in tea manner education.
As for intention to involve their children in tea manner education 74.1% said “Yes” and as for intention to participate in tea manner training programs with their children, 86.1% said “Yes”.
In the result, most of the respondents are highly willing to involve their children and participate with their children in tea manner education.
As for the benefit of the tea manner education, 43.8% answered it is good for 'the formation of good behavior, followed by the 'patience and being considerate'(24.9%), 'improvement of concentration and attention ‘(8.3%), 'being respectful to the adults'(5.7%)
Secondly, in the result of surveying the method of the child tea manner education “Tea manner should be trained at home, in nursery and kindergarten altogether and become a way of life” appeared to the highest, marking 3.93, followed by “Above all parent have to learn and practice the tea manner education” (3.81), “the tea manner education should be trained in nursery or kindergarten” (3.67)
Thirdly, As for the recognition of mothers on the child tea manner education, among 5 fields (health, society, expression, language and research) social life(4.06) and health living(4.01) were higher than total average(3.96) and expressing life marked 3.94, language life marked 3.89, research life marked 3.86
Fourthly, in the survey of demand on the child tea manner education, among three factors of manner, tea and culture, etiquette (4.13) scored the highest, followed by tea (3.75) and culture (3.68). In the case of demand on manner, “greeting manner” (4.13) was the highest, followed by “sound health of body” (4.58) and “sound health of mind” (4.57)
Fifthly, according to the survey of influence that the demand on the child tea manner education impacts the recognition on the child tea manner education, those who have high demand on tea turned out to have relatively high correlation with “social life” ( .646), followed by “research life” (.635) and “language life”(.631).
Those who showed high demand on culture turned out to have correlation with “language life” (.583) and those who showed high demand on manner turned out to have correlation with “social life”(.530)
On the basis of this research result, by reflecting the demand and recognition on the child tea manner education of mothers who have 3-5 years old children, it is necessary to provide more chances that mothers are able to conduct the tea manner with their children and to develop the tea manner programs in order that the child tea manner education can be conducted more effectively in the child train facilities and home.
