알타비스타 프로그램이 유아의 하나님 개념에 미치는 효과 = The Effect of the Alta Vista Program on ths Children's God Concept

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 기독교 유아교육과정인 알타비스타를 기독교유아교육기관에서 실행함으로서 기독교 유아교육과정을 소개하고, 기독교유아교육과정이 유아의 하나님 개념에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아봄으로서 교육과정의 효과를 검증하는 것이다.

본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위한 구체적인 연구문제를 제시하면 다음과 같다.

알타비스타 프로그램이 유아의 하나님 개념에 미치는 효과는 어떠한가?
1) 알타비스타 프로그램 실시가 유아의 하나님의 개념 중 사랑의 하나님 개념에 프로그램 실시 전과 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
2) 알타비스타 프로그램 실시가 유아의 하나님의 개념 중 전능하신 하나님 개념에 프로그램 실시 전과 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
3) 알타비스타 프로그램 실시가 유아의 하나님의 개념 중 엄하신 하나님 개념에 프로그램 실시 전과 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
4) 알타비스타 프로그램 실시가 유아의 하나님의 개념 중 멀리 계신 하나님 개념에 프로그램 실시 전과 어떠한 차이가 있는가?

본 연구 문제에 따른 결과는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 유아의 하나님 개념은 알타비스타 프로그램을 실행한 실험집단의 점수가 비교집단의 점수 보다 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다.
둘째, 유아의 사랑의 하나님 개념은 알타비스타 프로그램을 실행한 실험집단의 점수가 비교집단의 점수 보다 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다.
셋째, 유아의 전능하신 하나님 개념은 알타비스타 프로그램을 실행한 실험집단의 점수가 비교집단의 점수 보다 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다.
넷째, 유아의 엄하신 하나님 개념은 알타비스타 프로그램을 실행한 실험집단의 점수가 비교집단의 점수 보다 통계적으로 차이가 나지 않았다.
다섯째, 유아의 멀리계신 하나님 개념은 알타비스타 프로그램을 실행한 실험집단의 점수가 비교집단의 점수 보다 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다.

이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로 결론을 유추하면 다음과 같다.

첫째, 알타비스타 프로그램은 유아의 하나님 개념 중 사랑의 하나님, 전능하신 하나님, 멀리계신 하나님 개념에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났습니다. 이는 알타비스타 프로그램이 하나님을 친밀하고, 사랑해 주시며, 전능 하신분으로 인식하도록 돕는다는 것을 보여주는 결과이며, 벌을 주시거나 화를 내시는 엄하신 하나님으로 인식하지 않도록 한다는 것을 나타낸다.
둘째, 유아의 엄하신 하나님 개념에 대하여 실험집단과 비교집단의 평균점수가 차이를가 보이지 않았습니다. 이는 알타비스타 프로그램 진행 시 담임교사와의 사전 논의와 주요개념에 대한 묵상이 부족했던 점이 원인으로 보여 짐으로, 교사의 알타비스타의 주요개념들에 대한 깊이 있는 이해가 전반적인 교육과정에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 보여주는 결과라고 볼 수 있습니다.
또 다른 해석으로는, 엄하신 하나님과 관련된 주제의 수업을 전개함에 있어서 우리를 사랑하시기 때문에 권위자와 규칙을 세우시고, 이를 통하여 우리를 보호하기 위함이라는 내용으로 전개 되었기에, 엄하신 하나님보다는 사랑의 하나님으로 인식하게 되는 결과를 보였다고도 볼 수 있습니다.
셋째, 유아의 엄하신 하나님의 개념은 실험집단과 비교집단 모두 사전 점수 보다 사후점수가 더 낮게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 하나님에 대한 지식이 증가할수록 유아들은 사랑의 하나님으로 인식하며, 엄하신 분으로 생각하지 않게 된다는 연구결과와 일치하는 것으로(이영주, 2006; 이정민, 2011), 기독교인 교사가 매일 함께 기도하고, 주 1회 예배를 드리는 과정을 통해서 비교집단과 알타비스타 프로그램을 실행한 실헙집단 모두 하나님에 대한 지식이 증가함으로서 유아들은 하나님을 친밀하고, 자신을 사랑해 주는 존재로 인식한다는 것을 보여주는 결과라고 할 수 있다.
넷째, 알타비스타 프로그램의 실행 과정과 사후 검사에 대한 유아들의 대답을 통해서 유아들의 복음과 관련된 질문 및 하나님 개념에 대한 답변, 수업과 관련된 반응이 변화하는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 그 예로, “밤에 예수님이 자꾸 생각나요.”라고 이야기하기도 하였고, 하나님이 계신 것을 어떻게 알 수 있는지에 대한 물음에 “느껴져요”라고 대답하는 유아도 있었으며, 실험기간 이후에도 유아들의 그림과 언어적인 표현을 통해서 하나님과 예수님이 계속적으로 표현되었습니다.
이는 알타비스타 프로그램이 유아들의 인지적인 측면 뿐 만이 아닌, 정서적이며, 영적인 측면에도 영향을 미치는 것을 보여주는 결과라고 볼 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose this study is to introduce children's curriculums of Christianity through children's educational institutions of Christianity executing the Alta Vista program which is one of such curriculums, while verifying the influence of such a curriculum by finding out the effect of the children's curriculums of Christianity on the children’s God concept.

The specific issues required to achieve the objective of this study were suggested as follows.

What kind of effect could the Alta Vista program have on the children’s God concept.
1) What kind of difference is there in terms of the concept about the Lord of love among various concepts of the children about God before and after the Alta Vista program is executed?
2) What kind of difference is there in terms of the concept about the God of omnipotence among various the children’s God concept before and after the Alta Vista program is executed?
3) What kind of difference is there in terms of the concept about the God of rigor among various the children’s God concept before and after the Alta Vista program is executed?
4) What kind of difference is there in terms of the concept about the God from a distance among various the children’s God concept before and after the Alta Vista program is executed?

The results for such issues of the study were shown as follows.

Firstly, regarding the children’s God concept, the score shown by the experimental group subject to the execution of the Alta Vista program was statistically higher than the one shown by the comparative group.
Secondly, regarding the children’s God concept of love, the score shown by the experimental group subject to the execution of the Alta Vista program was statistically higher than the one shown by the comparative group.
Thirdly, regarding the children’s God concept of omnipotence, the score shown by the experimental group subject to the execution of the Alta Vista program was statistically higher than the one shown by the comparative group.
Fourthly, regarding the children’s God concept of rigor, there was no statistical difference between the score shown by the experimental group subject to the execution of the Alta Vista program, and the one shown by the comparative group.
Fifthly, regarding the children’s God concept from a distance, the score shown by the experimental group subject to the execution of the Alta Vista program was statistically higher than the one shown by the comparative group.

Through the above results of the study, it was verified that based on the execution of the Alta Vista curriculum to the children under the age of 5, their concept towards the Lord could be developed. Therefore, the basis for encouraging any children's educational institution of Christianity to apply the Alta Vista curriculum at site was provided.

Firstly, the Alta Vista program was shown to have a positive effect on the concepts of the God of love and omnipotence as well as the one of the God from a distance, among various the children’s God concept. Such a result shows that the Alta Vista program could help the children to recognize the God as being friendly and omnipotent while providing love. The program does not make them recognize the God as being angry and rigorous while providing punishment.
Secondly, regarding the children’s God concept of rigor, there was no difference in terms of the average scores between the experimental group and the comparative group. Such a result might have been caused by the lack of advance discussions with the head teacher of the children as well as the lack of meditation for the major concepts of such a program regarding the execution of the Alta Vista program. It shows that the teacher's level of understanding towards the major concepts of the Alta Vista program could influence the overall curriculum.
According to another interpretation, regarding the development of the curriculum for the topics related to the God of rigor, the children understood that the God established and applied various rules because of the love towards us. Since they became aware that the God tried to protect us with such rules, they were able to see the love provided by the God, while not recognizing the God as being rigorous.
Thirdly, regarding the children’s God concept of rigor, both the experimental group and the comparative group showed lower ex post scores compared to the advance ones. Such a result represents that as the children's level of knowledge about the God increases, they tend to see more of the love provided by the God, while not recognizing the God as being rigorous, As the children in the comparative group and the group subject to the execution of the Alta Vista program prayed to the God together with their Christian teacher each day and had a service once a week, their knowledge about the God increased. As a result, they started to recognize the God as being friendly to them with love.
Fourthly, through the answers made by the children under the age of 5 regarding the advance process and the ex post examination of the Alta Vista program, it was possible to see that their answers for the questions related to the gospel and the concept towards the God changed. Also, they started to show different responses towards the related classes. For example, some of them said that they could not help thinking about Jesus at night. Also, there were some children who said that they could feel the existence of the God when they were asked about how they could find out the existence of the God. Even after the experimental period, they continuously expressed the existence of the God and Jesus through various pictures and lingual expressions.
Such results show that the Alta Vista program not only influences the cognitive aspect of the children under the age of 5, but also their emotional and spiritual aspects.
