Stone sludge in the stone factory is produced in the process of stone and stone sludge is precipitated by mixing with water and adding some lime. After this process, once the water is removed from submerged stone sludge, only stone sludge is remained and reclaimed as waste.
The purpose of this study is to analysis the possibility of recycling stone sludge which is classified as construction waste to fill material. In order to achieve this goal, weathered granite soil and stone sludge are mixed, and mixed cement additionally to improve the strength of this soil mixture. Various physical property tests and unconfined compression strength test are done about effect of soil cement mixtures. Based on the results from the test, the characteristics of cement was researched and the results obtained from this study are as follows.
Analyzing the result of mixing weathered granite soil with stone sludge, as the mixing proportion of stone sludge got higher, maximum dry unit weight decreased and optimum moisture content increased. As curing period has passed, the compression strength got increased. 7 days of curing period had more than 60 % and 14 days had more than 90 % of the strength at 28 days. As mixing proportion of stone sludge got smaller, the compression strength increase rate was higher. As the content of cement got higher, the compression strength increase rate was higher. More than 12 % of cement content is effective for the effect of soil cement of stone mixture soil.
