The purpose of this study is two folds. First, it is to examine that individual characteristics are related to organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior(OCB). Second, it is to examine the moderating effect of Front Of the House(FOH) and Back Of the House(BOH) on the relationship among individual characteristics, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior.
Subject for this study consisted of the employees who work at the first-class hotel in Seoul. The actual investigation was made 10 first-class hotels in Seoul. 271 of 300 questionnaires were collected from September 20th to October 20th. Among these, 260 can be used validly. For the empirical research, SPSS 18.0 for Windows was used to analyze frequency and reliability and AMOS 18.0 was used confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis for proving the hypothesis.
The findings can be summarized as follows : First, it is found that there are significant relationships among individual characteristics, organizational commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior. Second, it is found that they have a significant differences among individual characteristics, organizational commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior by moderating effects of front of the house and back of the house.
