아동의 이타행동의 발달과 역할수행과의 관계 = (A) STUDY ON THE CHILDREN'S DEVELOPMENT OF ALTRUISM AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ALTRUISM AND ROLE-TAKING

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 5세, 7세, 9세의 아동을 대상으로 하여 이타행동의 발달과 역할수행과의 관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
1. 아동의 이타행동은 연령에 따라 어떻게 발달하는가?
2. 이타행동에 있어서 남아와 여아간에 차이가 있는가?
3. 이타행동과 역할수행과는 어떠한 상관이 있는가?
4. 자원봉사, 실험자 돕기, 간식 나누기의 세 가지 이타행동은 서로 상관되어 있는가?
본 실험에서는 유치원, 국민학교 2학년, 4학년 아동 90명이 참여 하였다. 이타행동은 자원봉사, 실험자 돕기, 간식 나누기의 세 조건으로 설정하여 측정하였고, 역할수행 과제로는 Selman과 Byrne이 만든 도덕적 딜레마가 포함된 이야기와 질문을 제시하였다.
실험 결과는 다음과 같다.
1. 아동의 이타행동은 연령이 높아질수록 증가하였는데 5세와 7세 사이에서는 유의한 차이를 발견하지 못했으나 7세와 9세 사이에서는 유의한 차이를 발견하였다.
2. 이타행동에 있어서 남아와 여아 간에 의의있는 차이가 없었다.
3. 아동의 이타행동과 역할수행 간에는 의의있는 긍정적 상관관계가 나타났다.
4. 세 가지 이타행동은 7세에 있어서만 자원봉사와 간식 나누기(P<.01), 실험자 돕기와 간식 나누기(P<.02)가 긍정적 상관을 나타냈을 뿐, 아무런 상관관계가 발견되지 않았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is intended to explore the development of children's altruistic behavior and the relationship between altruism and role-taking ability. There are four purposes of this study. First is to investigate the developmental tendency of children's altruism. Second is to examine the sex differences in altruism. Third is to examine the relationship between altruism and role-taking in children. Fourth is to examine the correlations among the three kinds of altruistic behavior (volunteering, helping, sharing).
The sample subjects of this study were consisted of 90, 5-, 7-, 9-year-old children from kindergarten and elementary school. Three kinds of altruistic behavior used as the measures of altruism. The measures of altruism were: (a) volunteering free time to work for sick children, (b) offering physical assistance to the experimenter, (c) sharing caramels and chocoletes with other children. The questions after telling a moral dilemma story with some pictures, made by Selman and Byrne, were used as role taking task.
The results of this study were as follows;
1. Children's altruism was developed with age, but no significant difference was found between 5-and 7-year-old.
2. There was no sex difference in altruistic behavior.
3. The significant positive correlations between altruism and role-taking were found.
4. None of the intercorrelations among the three measures of altruism was significant except volunteering and sharing (P<.01), and helping and sharing (p<.02) in 7-year-old.
