      ABSTRACT

      The Relationship between the Sport for All Participation and Fun.

      The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the sport for all participation and fun. With extended enforcement of the 5-day work week system, modern society has given opportunities to participate in various leisure activities such as sport-for-all. Accordingly, I became more interest in fun and pleasure of the sport-for-all, in addition to its influences on continuous sport activities, which led to the study.
      In this study, adults were selected as a population, who were participants in sport-for-all in culture centers, private sport facilities and social associations in Gangwon-do as of 2010, then among them 497 adults were sampled. For a data collection tool, the study used a questionnaire modified and developed by Jung yong-gak (1997) to be suitable for the purpose and the object of the study as the participation motivation questionnaire, based on SMS-28 (sport motivation scale) of Vallerand et al.(1992) and LIM (Leisure Intrinsic Motivation) of Wessinger & Bandalos(1995), Jung yong-gak (1997). Moreover, for the sport fun questionnaire, items reconstructed by Kim byung-jun, based on analysis of Kim byung-jun and Sung chang-hoon (1997), were used according to modification and supplementation suitable for the purpose and the object of the study.
      Cronbach's α value, the reliability of a measurement tool used in this study, is .768~.948. As research procedures, a questionnaire survey was conducted by way of direct visit to the relevant area, in which data completed by means of a self-administration method were collected. Then, the data were analyzed using SPSS/PC+ 15.0 Version for windows, for example, one-way ANOVA and Standard multiple regression analysis, except for data judged to be unreliable.
      Results according to these procedures and methods are as follows.
      First, there was a partially significant difference in participation grade, participation motivation, fun according to background variables of the sport-for-all participants.
      Second, the participation grade of the sport for all participants shows the most significant influence according to exercise volume (participation level) to some degree for 1-time exercise, as an analysis result of relationship with fun. and their participation motivation shows a significant influence according to improvement, or technical development, as an analysis result of relationship with fun.
