The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Jabidasun Tea Medication Program on reduction in stress responses of the handicapped children's mothers.
The research subjects were collected participants in Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program targeting the handicapped children's mothers at special school in G city. The experimental group was formed with 15 people. The Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program was carried out by forming the control group with 15 people in the same condition.
The experimental group for the Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program was progressed for 2 hours once a week for 8 weeks. As the Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program is the one that is being carried out at Jabisun Buddhist temple in Seongju, the program was reconstituted in consideration of characteristics and demands of the handicapped children's mothers. A measurement tool of this study was used Beck's depression scale, Korean version of Aggression Questionnaire, and Symptom Checklist-90-R(SCL-90-R). ANCOVA was carried out by having the pre-test score as covariate variable for the experimental group with application of Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program and the control group without application.
These findings are summarized as follows.
First, the Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program was indicated to reduce the daily stress responses of the handicapped children's mothers.
Second, the Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program was indicated to reduce a sense of depression of the handicapped children's mothers. In the trend of a change in score of each individual, the effect of reduction in stress and depression was indicated noticeably.
Third, the Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program was indicated to reduce the aggression of the handicapped children's mothers. Even in sub-scale of aggression, all subjects were indicated to be notably reduced as a whole.
Fourth, the Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program was indicated to reduce physical and psychological symptoms of the handicapped children's mothers. In sub-scale of mental diagnosis test, all subjects were indicated to be prominently reduced as a whole.
Examining the results of this study, the Jabidasun Tea Meditation Program is suggested to be used helpfully in reducing the stress responses of the handicapped children's mothers, and can be said to have significance in a sense of attempting for the first time in Korea.
