    The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of nutrition education using developed pamphlet focused on Food Exchange System on elementary school students' dietary attitude, and food habits(meals and snacks), nutrition knowledge, dietary intake. Nutrition education pamphlets for four times was constructed. The subjects who were 62 elementary school students (3th grade educated group, 31students vs non-educated group, 31students). Nutrition education lessons(40 min/lesson, 4 times), ‘5 major nutrients’, ‘food tower’, ‘learn my obesity & daily needed energy’, ‘daily needed food exchange units & snacks, exercise’ as class lesson, ‘dietary needed energy and food exchange units’ as individual lesson, were provided to 62 elementary students. After education, in dietary attitude score, there were significantly differences in attitude of only ‘meal at ease(p<0.01)’ in the educated group. the dietary attitude average score increases significantly in the educated group(p<0.01). In food habit(meals and snacks), there were significant changes in the ‘type of breakfast(p<0.05)’ and ‘type of snacks(p<0.01)’. In ‘type of breakfast’, it showed higher number of students ate rice oriented meal than non-education group(p<0.05). After education, in nutrition knowledge score, there were significantly differences in knowledge of ‘function of protein’, ‘function of vitamin(p<0.001)’, ‘function of mineral’, ‘foods of vitamin’, ‘foods of mineral(p<0.01)’ in the educated group. The nutrition knowledge average score increases significantly in the educated group(p<0.05). In the evaluation of meal according to KDRI, there were significantly positive effects in Zn(p<0.05), niacin(p<0.05), energy(p<0.01), fiber(p<0.01), ash(p<0.01), Fe(p<0.01), protein(p<0.001), Ca(p<0.001), P(p<0.001), K(p<0.001), riboflavin(p<0.001), folate(p<0.001) in educated group. In Satisfaction with nutrition education pamphlet, ‘contents’, ‘font size’, ‘visual’, ‘figure’, ‘difficulty’, and ‘curriculum’ were over 2.25/3.0 score. These results showed that education using Food Exchange System for elementary developed pamphlet focused on students improved dietary attitude, and food habits(meals and snacks), nutrition knowledge, dietary intake. It suggest that nutrition education using Food Exchange System may improve nutrient knowledge, attitudes and nutrient intakes. Therefore it is need to develop teaching materials for nutrition education and need to develop using a variety of educational tools focused on Food Exchange System.
