기독 청소년의 종교성향과 학교생활적응과의 관계 : 낙관성의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 기독 청소년의 종교성향과 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 낙관성이 매개효과가 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기도지역에 소재하고 있는 기독교 고등학교 1, 2, 3학년 남녀 284명에 대한 설문조사만을 분석하였다. 연구를 위해 사용된 척도로는 종교성향척도, 낙관성척도 그리고 학교생활적응척도를 사용하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기독 청소년의 종교성향과 낙관성 그리고 학교생활적응과의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과 내향적 종교성향만이 낙관성과 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 낙관성과 학교생활적응과의 관계에서도 정적상관이 있었다.
둘째, 기독 청소년의 종교성향, 낙관성이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보았다. 먼저 종교성향이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향에 대한 결과를 보면 외향적 종교성향은 학교생활적응에 아무런 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 다만 내향적인 종교성향만이 학교생활적응에 정적 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 낙관성도 학교생활적응에 정적영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 기독 청소년의 내향적 종교성향과 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 낙관성의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 낙관성이 내향적 종교성향과 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 내향적 종교성향과 학교생활적응의 하위요인과의 관계에서 낙관성의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 학교환경, 학교교사, 학교친구 적응에는 부분매개효과가 있었지만 학교생활, 학교수업에는 매개효과가 없음으로 증명되었다. 따라서 기독 청소년의 내향적 종교성향이 학교환경, 학교교사, 학교친구적응에 직접적인 영향을 줄뿐만 아니라 낙관성을 부분매개로 하여 간접적으로도 학교생활적응에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알게 되었다.
이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 기독 청소년의 종교성향과 낙관성, 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 직․간접적인 영향력의 경로를 확인하였다. 그리고 낙관성이 내향적인 종교성향과 학교생활적응과의 관계 속에서 부분매개로 영향을 미친다는 것도 확인하여 그 영향에 대해 논의하였다. 끝으로 본 연구의 제한점과 후속연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to identify mediation effect of optimism between religious orientation and school adjustment for Christian high school students. Analysis was conducted using data from 284 students of 1st to 3rd grade Christian high school in Gyeonggi-do. Religious orientation scale, optimism scale and school adjustment scale were used to measure.
The results were as follows.
First, the correlation analysis between religious orientation, optimism and school adjustment, reveals that only intrinsic religious orientation had the directive correlation with optimism and school adjustment. Also, optimism was directive correlated with school adjustment.
Second, analysis was conducted which measured the effect of religious orientation and optimism on school adjustment. The analysis showed extrinsic religious orientation had no effect on school adjustment. Instead, intrinsic religious orientation had positive effect on school adjustment and so did the optimism.
Third, analysis for mediation effect of optimism on the relation between intrinsic religious orientation and school adjustment was conducted. The result showed that optimism had partial mediation effect on the relation between intrinsic religious orientation and school adjustment. Also, analysis for mediation effect of optimism on the relation between intrinsic religious and sub factors of school adjustment was conducted. Results showed that optimism had partial mediation effect on relation between intrinsic religious orientation and sub factors such as school environment, school teachers, and schoolmate adjustment. But optimism had no mediation effect on another sub factors like school life and school classes.
Therefore, it is proved that intrinsic religious orientation has not only direct effect on school environment, school teachers, and schoolmate adjustment but also indirect effect on school adjustment with the partial mediation effect of optimism.
On the results of study, pathway of direct and indirect effect on the relation between religious orientation, optimism and school adjustment was identified. The fact that optimism has the partial mediation effect on relation between intrinsic religious orientation and school adjustment was identified and its influence was also discussed. Lastly, limitation of this study and suggestion for following study were proposed.
