       In this paper, the Chinese and Western modern sculpture's source and development as the background, to describe the similarities and differences of the Chinese and Western aesthetic sculpture.
      The Western sculpture is mainly in the center of ancient Greek sculpture. The ancient Greek sculpture is mainly classical sculpture, and this form was changed into realistic sculpture after that had been extended to the period of Rodin. The creation of classical sculpture is mainly mythology or people's minds. Yet, the creation of realistic sculpture is the real life or Expressing human's desire. After 20th century, with the development of times, the Application of New Materials, especially the development of the Constitution and assembly sculpture, POP art being popular, and the emergence of place sculpture and waster sculpture, broke the traditional concept of sculpture completely, created a new era of sculpture artistic's free development and form diversification.
      The end of 19th century, the traditional Chinese sculpture was going downhill, a group of young people who had artistic ideal went to France, Belgium, Japan, United States to study Western sculpture. And after returning China , they became Chinese pioneers of modern sculpture through sculpture creation, founding the sculpture department, translating、referencing Western sculpture literatures and informations. And they also became the first group of Chinese sculptors.
      The form of Chinese Modern sculpture is the product of Western Modern culture global development and influence. Chinese Modern culture was compared with Western Modern culture in Language form, exciting obvious signs of learning from the West, though decorative language generally developed, lack of the characteristic of modernity and traditional culture's merging.
      There is no doubt of that Chinese Modern art is affected by Western Modern art. Now, when we review of the creation of art since the 80s, or more earlier works, we can see the shadow of Western art.
      Since the seventies and eighties of the 20th century, under this new history situation of reforming and opening, Chinese modern art was undergoing a process of fission. Chinese Artists used lots of art changes of Western since last century as Change basis and reference, integrating local culture and reality, created the art in their own way. In this process of ideology or Pan-ideology, Chinese modern art didn't persist Western art concepts and methodology, but let the Chinese traditional culture concept and Western art or cultural trends did meaningful integration.
      Now, when we review this study, the result of this study can be summarized as follows:
      1) We can found in the field of politics、economics、philosophy、sociology、art, Chinese modern art constantly studies with international, forms the unique character of contemporary gradually.
      2) Although in the process of dissertation, we always in the way of comparison to describe and summarize Chinese modern art, in the global development of now days, the Chinese and Western culture becomes cultural propositions related to each other in a degree, artists use the form of art to transfer the newest change of ideas and values, and it let us not only see the collision, but also see the integration.
