    The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of deep cleansing treatment on skin conditions of various skin types. Skin types of 90 female college students of twenties were classified into dry, oily and mixed skin using objective physical measurements. All subjects were assigned to 4 groups according to each skin type : control group, enzyme group, scrub group, and AHA group. The different deep cleansing groups treated with enzyme, scrub and AHA deep cleanser were used to observe changes of sebum, moisture, and elasticity levels, erythema index, melanin index, and keratin contents, and then subjective responses using questionnaire also were analyzed every week during 4 weeks. The results were as follows :

    1. Sebum levels of dry skin type treated with enzyme and scrub deep cleansing were significantly increased. Moisture levels of dry skin type in enzyme, scrub, and AHA deep cleansing were effectively increased, while only AHA deep cleansing in elasticity levels.

    2. Sebum levels of oily skin type treated with scrub and AHA deep cleansing were significantly decreased. Moisture levels of oily skin type in enzyme and AHA deep cleansing were effectively increased, while only AHA deep cleansing in elasticity levels.

    3. Sebum levels of mixed skin type treated with AHA deep cleansing was significantly decreased. Moisture levels of mixed skin type in enzyme deep cleansing was effectively increased, while only AHA deep cleansing in elasticity levels.

    4. Erythema index of dry, oily and mixed skin didn't show significant difference after deep cleansing, thus, deep cleansing didn't cause skin sensitivity.

    5. Melanin index of dry, oily and mixed skin didn't show significant difference after deep cleansing, thus, deep cleansing didn't change level of hyperpigmentation of skin. But, enzyme, scrub and AHA deep cleansing are significantly effective for improving subjective complexion.

    6. Decrease of keratin level and increase of smoothness were showed after enzyme, scrub and AHA deep cleansing of dry, oily and mixed skin, thus, subjective smoothness reflected real change of keratin levels.

    7. Experimental and subjective skin condition after deep cleansing, subjective oiliness feeling levels were increased according to increase sebum levels and subjective dryness feeling levels were decreased according to increase moisture levels.
