In a dynamic and turbulent environment, knowledge represents a critical resource to create value and competitive advantages and one of the sources of competitive advantage is to create, share, and apply knowledge among employees. Because of increasing interest in knowledge sharing, firms have become interested in knowledge sharing through CoP(community of practice). Most of the firms which conduct knowledge management are operating a CoP in order to create, share and utilize knowledge This study aims to investigate factors influencing knowledge sharing in CoP and the effects of knowledge sharing in CoP on job-performance. For this purpose, we present a research model that consists of absorptive capacity as mediating factor and test it empirically using LISREL 8.7 based on the structural equation model. The empirical results showed that loss of knowledge codification effort had negatively impact on knowledge sharing in CoP and the norm of reciprocity, expected reward had positively impact on knowledge sharing in CoP. Knowledge sharing in CoP had positively impact on job-performance through absorptive capacity. In conclusion, we discussed both theoretical and practical implications of this research and suggested its limitations.
