The influence of the rapid industrial development after modernization has made human life rich and comfortable. However, the rapid industrialization led to change in the family structure, expansion of females' participation in society and change in views on children's education etc, which caused the following problems etc.
With the increase in working mothers, the role of family groups or mothers taking full charge of children's education traditionally has reduced greatly and society has been forced to be responsible partly for the issue of raising children.
With the injudicious increase in child care facilities, quantitative expansion has been made rather than qualitative expansion. Most of uniform facilities was engrossed in meeting only formal and legal regulations and did not provide effective space for child development.
Children lost their freedom of action, and their lives are operated by the schedules planned by their parents, and they came to spend time inside the house rather than outside. Like this, it is true that for children in modern times learning is being stressed excessively rather than desirable physical, mental developments.
Although child care centers play a very important role of fostering creative abilities through education and experience in building living habits and child development as mentioned above, their importance
and expectations are not met, which is the current reality.
In light of the fact that children's behavior development is made in the creative and organic space where they can keep exploring their surroundings, and stimulate their many senses, it can be said that theindoor environment of the child care center is of great significance.
Thus, the current study made theoretical investigation and conducted and analyzed case research in order to plan a child care center study of introducing children's behavior characteristics, based on the results drawn by this process we are to provide active and positive space to support children's physical, mental, social and cognitive developments focused on interior design and improvement direction for the child care center to introduce children's behavior characteristics.
The methods employed in the present study are as follows.
Chapter 1 mentions the background, purpose, scope and methods of the study.
Chapter 2 examined children's behaviors and characteristics according to child development after organizing the concept through theoretical investigation by means of domestic and foreign literature.
Chapter 3 investigates spatial application methods according to physical, emotional, cognitive and social skills developments which are elements of behavior characteristics and examines practical cases
applied through a case analysis and analyze with what standards they should be applied to the child care center.
Based on children's behavior characteristics and case analysis in chapter 3, in chapter 4 we select the specific child care center and draw problems and alternatives and by this, propose design of child care centers suitable for their behavior characteristics.
Chapter 5 reaches a conclusion of the current study through the analysis and evaluation in chapter 4.
