한국과 대만의 총독부 기록물 관리에 대한 비교 연구

The archives of the Japanese government-general of Korea are the ones created and distributed by central agencies and local administrative agencies under the control of the Japanese government-general, and the records are the evidence for recovery of rights and also historical data allowing the grasping of the Japanese plundering situation; in addition, they are important primary data through which we can explore the general fields in that period, such as politics, economy, society, culture, education and religion, etc.
In spite of such importance, the realities are that systematic management of the archives of the Japanese government-general and service for using them are not properly done. Starting from such problems and centering on the National Archives of Korea which is in possession of most of the archives, this research took a look at the present situation of archives management and the service through the Web. Also, this research looked into the present situation of the management of the records of the Japanese government-general of Taiwan[similar to those of the Japanese government-general of Korea in the aspects of source of records, contents, and form] and their Web service.
This research took a look at the situation of management of the archives of the Japanese government-general including managing organization of archives, current situation of the archives, classification, finding aids, and description, which are administered by "the National Archives of Korea" in our country and "Taiwan Historica" in Taiwan, respectively; then, this research analyzed major characteristics, common points, and differences between the archives in Korea and Taiwan.
Particularly, this research compared & elicited the strengths and weaknesses of Korea and Taiwan, among which this research pointed out the problems with the management of the archives of the Japanese government-general of Korea centering on weaknesses. In addition, this research suggested the improvement plan for such problems by citing some of the strengths in the management of archives of Taiwan
As a study method, this research took a closer look at the finding aids offered by Korea and Taiwan in relation to classification and description besides documents; this research selected "Japanese government-general Archives Collection Guide" and "the Japanese government-general archives collection" on online-information-processing-system in case of Korea, and "the Japanese government-general of Taiwan archives search system" and "the period of Japanese colonial rule & in the early period of independence archives search system" in case of Taiwan, as search subjects.
Through the comparison & analysis of the management of the Japanese government-general archives in Korea and Taiwan, this research suggested the four plans as follows to find a solution to the problems in the aspect of the Japanese government-general of Korea archives management, or organization, classification, description, and finding aids.
First, it is necessary to prepare the organization to manage the archives of the Japanese government-general of Korea, and make intensified efforts for data-collection; second, it's imperative to establish & systemize a classification level according to clear standards; third, it's also necessary to make descriptions according to a classified level and produce a detailed description, and lastly, it's desirable to intensify the Web service on 'The Japanese government-general of Korea archives collection' and set up and offer a variety of contents.
