The purpose of this study is to analysis the difference of female students' appearance satisfaction and self-efficacy and school-related adjustment.
Specifically the question raised up by this.
First, is there a difference in appearance satisfaction, self-efficiency and school-related depending on the grades of the students?
Second, does self-efficiency differ depending on the students' satisfaction in appearance?
Third, does adaptation of the school life differ depending on the students' satisfaction in appearance?
Survey was employed for the study method 315 student from middle and high schools. Datas are statistically by using SPSS(Ver 12.0) as dependent on the level of p<.05 by average, standard deviation and t-test.
The findings of the study are as follows.
First, no meaningful differences were observed in the satisfaction in appearance and the self-efficiency among middle and high school female students. However, when it came to school adaptation, the data of the female middle school students were higher than the high school students in the adaptability of environment, of the teachers, and of the school life in general.
Second, the observation showed somewhat meaningful difference in self-efficiency according to the students' appearance both in middle and high school girls. The students with high satisfaction in appearance had higher general and social self-efficiency.
Third, the difference in satisfaction of appearance and the school adaptation were shown among female middle school students but no meaningful data were observed among female high school students. The more they were satisfied with their appearance, the more adapted they were throughout their school lives, especially with the adaptation of environment, friends, and overall school living.
However, as for high school girls, higher satisfaction in appearance made their school lives more adaptable but it affected no meaningful difference in adaptation of environment, teachers, classes, and friends. And impulse to the frequency of adolescent's usage of slang.
