The study were examined about between learned helplessness and interpersonal relationship of the mediating effects of empathy and isolation.
For this purpose, 397 college students(male 204, female 193) were asked to respond the survey which was used in this study. All subjects were tested with Learned helplessness scale, Interpersonal Reactivity Index scale, emotional/social aspects of loneliness and isolation scale and Relationship Change Scale.
The study used descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, structural equation analysis and SPSS 12.0 program and AMOS 7.0 program for analysis of study question established.
The result of this study are summarized as follows.
First, Learned helplessness and interpersonal relationship were correlated with negative association.
Second, data from analysing correlation of Learned helplessness, empathy, isolation. Learned helplessness and empathy were correlated with positive association. And Learned helplessness and isolaton were correlated with negative association.
Third, data analysing mediating effects of relation between Learned helplessness, empathy, isolation, interpersonal relationship. Result were Learned helplessness and interpersonal relationship mediated to isolation.
And the direct effects, indirect effects were all statistically significant. Learned helplessness and interpersonal relationship were not mediated to empathy. That is the reason why caused the level of helplessness as a result of surveyed patients were not pathological.
In the conclusion, the significance and limits of the study and implication were discussed.
