사랑중독증에 대한 미술치유적인 작품제작 연구 : 본인의 바느질 작품을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 2006년부터 2008년까지 진행한 사랑중독증을 바느질로 표현한 작품제작에 대한 연구자의 체험적 연구결과보고이다. 현대인들은 산업의 발달로 인해 다양한 물질적 혜택을 누리게 되었지만, 이러한 사회 변화는 타인과의 소통의 부재를 증폭시키고 비인간화를 불러 왔다. 그래서 현대를 살아가는 이들은 다양한 정신적 문제를 경험하게 되었다.
본 논문에서는 이러한 정신적 문제들 중 하나인 사랑중독증에 대해 고찰하고자 하였다. 사랑중독증은 타인과의 관계에 대해 과도하게 집착하거나 맹목적인 사랑의 형태로 나타나는 것을 말한다. 이는 유년기에 가족과 사회로부터 학습된 것으로서 소통의 부재가 그 원인이다. 본인도 사랑중독증의 증상을 앓고 있는 이들 중 하나였고, 그러한 경험을 바탕으로 하여 작품을 제작하였다. 본인의 작품은 천을 사용하여 바느질되었는데, 루이즈 부르주아와 김수자는 바느질 작업을 봉합과 치유의 상징으로 보았다. 부드럽고 따뜻한 천은 촉각적으로 안정감을 주고, 한 땀 한 땀 반복해 나가는 바느질 작업은 자신의 상처를 되돌아보게 하여 갈등을 예술로 승화시켜준다. 즉, 이러한 창작활동은 내재된 에너지를 방출하게 함으로써 미술치료의 역할을 한다. 본인 역시 바느질이라는 창작활동을 통해서 내면에 억제되어 있던 슬픔을 승화시키고자 하였다. 그리고 작품과 관객의 만남이라는 간접적인 상황을 통해 타인과의 소통의 부재를 해소하고자 하였다. 이와 같이 억압된 기억의 해소는 치유로 이어지고, 작품 관람과 참여를 통해 관객의 치유로 이어지도록 유도하였다. 즉, 본인의 내면의 치유과정인 작품이 관객의 치유로 이어지는 매개체 역할을 한 것이다.
따라서 본 논문에서는 본인의 삶의 고백을 통해 인간이 갖고 있는 보편적인 상처를 확인해 보고, 바느질이라는 창작활동을 통한 상처 치유의 과정을 이야기한 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is a heuristic report on the research result of the researcher on the work production expressing the love addiction through stitching, carried out from 2006 to 2008.
Modern people enjoy the various material benefits due to the industrial development, but these social changes increase the absence of communication with others and bring dehumanization. Consequently, people living in the modern society experience various mental problems.
In this paper, one of these mental problems, the loveholic is to be considered. The loveholic refers to the excess obsession on the relationship with others or appearing in the form of blind love. The reason for this is the absence of communication with family and society during childhood. The writer also was one of the people who suffered from the symptoms of the loveholic, and created the work based on those experiences.
The work of the writer has been stitched by using cloth, and from Louise Bourgeois and Soo-ja Kim, the needlework was seen as the symbol of suture and cure. The soft and warm cloth gave a sense of stability through touch, and the needlework repeating stitch by stitch sublimates conflicts to art by looking back at one’s wounds. In other words, these creative activities release the immanent energy, and act as an artistic cure.
The writer as well was to sublimate the sadness suppressed inside through the creative activity of stitching. Also, through the indirect situation of the meeting of the art and the audience, the absence of the communication with others was to be solved. Like this, the solution to the suppressed memories was to become the cure, and the viewing and participation in the art were to become the cure for the audience. In other words, the art, which is the cure process of the writer’s inner side, acted as the medium for the cure for the audience.
Therefore, in this paper, through the confession of the writer’s life, the universal wound of humans has been verified, and the cure process through the creative activity of stitching has been discussed.
