This study was implemented to examine the effectiveness of the 'Horang-ee Sentence Writing Strategy' on sentence writing abilities and the self-efficacy of Elementary students with learning disabilities(LD). The subjects were two fourth grade students and one third grade student with LD from an elementary school in Cheonan city. The program applied was the 'Horang-ee Sentence Writing Strategy' by Youn Ock Kim and her colleagues(2004). This Strategy is composed of a 13 unit, five stage course. The study employed a multiple-baseline across students to examine the effectiveness of this instruction strategy. In order to verify the effectiveness of this strategy on students with LD, a pre and post exam was administered. As a result, the subjects had mastered the 'Horang-ee Sentence Writing Strategy' and their self efficacy and writing ability showed remarkable improvement.
More systematic and objective research related to this study, is required. Furthermore this learning strategy for students with LD provides them with the skills required to build self confidence to overcome writing obstacles and build their self efficacy, continued research and ongoing support from parents and teachers is required for the continual success of these students with learning disabilites.
