Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동이 유아의 음악표현 능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 만 5세 유아를 대상으로 Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동이 노래 부르기 능력, 악기다루기 능력, 신체표현하기 능력, 음악 만들기 능력 및 유아의 음악표현능력 전체에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 있다.

연구의 목적에 따른 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다.

1) Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동이 유아의 노래 부르기 능력에
어떤 영향을 미치는가?
2) Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동이 유아의 악기 다루기 능력에
어떤 영향을 미치는가?
3) Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동이 유아의 신체표현하기 능력에
어떤 영향을 미치는가?
4) Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동이 유아의 음악 만들기 능력에
어떤 영향을 미치는가?
5) Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동이 유아의 음악표현 능력에
어떤 영향을 미치는가?

본 연구는 서울시 강서구에 위치한 M 유치원의 유아 총 58명(남아 28명, 여아 30명)을 선정하였다. 임의로 선정된 유아 58명 중 31명(남아 15명, 여아 16명)을 실험집단으로, 27명(남아 13명, 여아 14명)을 통제집단으로 나누었으며 실험집단에게는 9주에 걸쳐 Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동을 16회, 매회 30분 실시하였고, 통제집단에게는 M유치원에서 진행하고 있는 음악연간교육계획에 따른 음악활동을 진행하였다.
음악표현능력의 사전, 사후 검사의 도구로는 John W. Lorton, Bertha L. Walley가 Recording Skill Development in Music에 제시된 총 89문항의 음악발달검사를 수정. 보완하여 사용한 김광자(2004)의 음악적 표현능력 검사 도구를 사용하였다.
자료의 통계적 분석을 위해서는 사전 검사를 공변인으로 하여 공변량 분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다.

본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다.
Orff 접근법에 의한 음악활동은 유아의 음악표현능력의 4가지 하위 요인인 노래 부르기 능력, 악기 연주하기 능력, 신체 표현하기 능력, 음악 만들기 능력 및 음악표현능력 전체에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.
이 같은 결과는 오르프 접근법에 의한 음악교육 활동이 유아의 음악표현 능력 향상에 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 보여준다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The Purpose of this study is to verify the effects of music education program by Orff Approach on singing ability, playing musical instrument ability, physical expression ability, musical improvisation ability as well as overall musical expressive abilities in 5 year old children.
Based on the stated purpose, the following are specific questions addressed in this study:
1. What effect does Music education program by Orff Approach have on
young children’s singing ability?
2. What effect does Music education program by Orff Approach have on young children's playing musical instrument ability?
3. What effect does Music education program by Orff Approach have on
young children’s physical expression ability?
4. What effect does Music education program by Orff Approach have on
young children’s musical improvisation ability?
5. What effect does Music education program by Orff Approach have on
young children’s musical expressive ability?
The test subjects for this study consisted of twenty-eight boys and thirty girls in M kindergarten located in Kangseo-Gu, Seoul, totaling fifty-eight children. They were randomly assigned to the experimental group of 31 children (boys: 15, girls: 16) and the control group of 27 children (boys: 13 girls: 14).
The experimental group was treated to Music education program by Orff approach for total of 16 sessions over the period of nine weeks lasting 30 minutes each, while control group was treated to conducted music activities by Annual Music education Plan in M kindergarten.
Expression of the musical ability test tool of Recording Skill Development in Music(John W. Lorton, Bertha L. Walley), which went through revision of 89 items by Kim, Kwang Ja (2004) was used for the pre and post-test tools for musical expression ability.
For statistical analysis of the data, ANCOVA(Analysis of Covariance) was used for the pre-test.
The main results of this study are as follows:
Music education program by the Orff Approach was effective in improving abilities in sub-factors of the four kinds of Musical expression which are singing ability, playing musical instruments ability, physical expression ability and musical improvisation ability as well as overall musical expressive abilities.
These results show that music education program by Orff Approach can make positive effect in developing musical expression ability for young children.
