자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동이 만4세 유아의 표현능력과 감상능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록 (Abstract)

고도화된 산업사회로의 진전과 생활환경의 변화는 유아들에게 물질적인 풍요와 함께 자연에서의 소외, 놀이공간과 학습 환경의 인위성, 폐쇄성 등 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 성장발달의 여러 측면에서 결정적 시기인 유아들에게 자연은 가장 훌륭한 선생님으로 자연체험활동의 중요성은 더욱 커지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동이 만4세 유아들의 표현능력과 감상능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알아보고자 하는데 있다.

이와 같은 목적을 위하여 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다.

1. 자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동이 만4세 유아의 미술활동과정에
미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
2. 자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동이 만4세 유아의 표현능력에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
3. 자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동이 만4세 유아의 감상능력에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
본 연구의 대상은 경기도 용인시 기흥구에 위치한 N어린이집 만4세 유아 30명이었으며 실험집단과 통제집단으로 각 15명씩 배정하였다. 실험처치를 위한 자연체험활동은 실험집단에 한해 2010년 6월 28일부터 9월 14일까지 매주 1회씩 12회 실시하였으며 통제집단의 경우 교실 내에서 동일한 주제를 가지고 담임교사에 의해 계획된 수업을 진행하였다. 검사 도구는 Schirrmacher(1998)의 유아미술 발달 평가, Eisner(1972)의 미술평가 관점, Barnes(1987)의 유아미술 평가를 참고로 정미경(1999)이 재구성한 유아의 미술능력평가척도를 수정하여 사용하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS/WIN 15.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였고 자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동이 만4세 유아의 미술능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 t검증을 실시하였다.

연구 결과는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동은 만4세 유아들의 미술활동과정 에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동은 만4세 유아들의 표현능력을 유의하게 향상시켜주는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 자연체험활동을 통한 미술활동은 만4세 유아들의 감상능력을 유의하게 향상시켜주는 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구의 결과는 자연체험활동의 영향을 만4세 유아들의 미술활동에 한정하어 살펴 본 만큼 보다 광범위한 측면의 추가적인 연구가 필요하며 자연체험활동이 유아들의 성장발달에 미치는 영향의 중요성에 비추어 교육현장에서 활용될 수 있는 보다 다양한 프로그램의 개발이 요구된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine how effects of the art activity through nature experience activity on expression and appreciation competences

The research questions established are as belows:

First, what effects do nature experience activity have on young children's artistic activities at the art classes?
Second, what effects do nature experience activity have on young children's expression competences at the art classes?
Third, what effects do nature experience activity have on young children's appreciation competences at the art classes?

Thirty four-year-old children of N kindergarten located in Giheung-Gu, Yongin-City, Kyunggi-Province were selected as the subjects of the study; they were randomly split into halves to be assigned to the experimental and control group.
The art activity through nature experience activity was executed 12 times once a week from June 28th to September 14th 2010 to the experimental group. On the other hands, the control group was educated the same subject in the classroom as scheduled.
The testing material of this study was the parts of artistic activities and presentation skills in the evaluation of children's artistic abilities prepared by Mikyung Jung(1999). The material was based on the evaluation tools of children's artistic abilities by Schirmacher(1993), Eisner(1972) and Barnes(1987).
The data gained from this study was analyzed using a SPSS / windows for 15.0 program and t-test performed to find out the effect of art activity through nature experience activity on young children's art abilities
Results of this study were as belows;

First, the art activity through nature experience was found to possitively affect young children's artistic activities.

Second, the art activity through nature experience was found to improve young children's expression competence.

Third, the art activity through nature experience was found to improve young children's appreciation competence.
