The object of this study is to find the meaning of kindergarten teacher’s experience by looking at how teachers have been through their period of beginning job adjustment since they have hired. The questions of study are following;
1. What aspects can be seen on beginning job adjustment of kindergarten teacher’s experiences?
2. What is the overall meaning of beginning job adjustment of kindergarten teacher’s experience?
The subjects of the study were four newly hired kindergarten teachers who have different work experiences or backgrounds and the study was conducted from the end of April of 2010 to the end of July 2010. Data for the study was mainly collected by group interview, individual interview, and writing journals. Questionnaires used for the interview were based on "structured interview" and "semi-structured interview".
The study used qualitative method, which is focused on insight and comprehension of participants of the study. Therefore, state is described and interprets the meaning of it so that theoretical and practical discoveries lead to draw and understand each participant’s complicated individual experiences. The method of data collection is narrative inquiry.
Analyzing data was processed by following in order: reproduction of contents of interview, data combination, section analysis, classification analysis, and contents interpretation.
According to results and discussion, the conclusion of this study is following:
First, on one hand, aspects of beginning job adjustment of kindergarten teacher’s experience are that teachers have been undergoing constant struggles, limit, difficulties, trial and error of class management, teaching, extra workload other than teaching, and relationship with people. On the other hand, however, teachers are also trying to get over the stress and improve them.
Secondly, the meaning of aspects beginning job adjustment of kindergarten teacher’s experience is that they have some ongoing issues such as constant trial and error, class management which makes them feel incompetence, stress due to over workload, human relationship which has both love and conflict.
