The study has been studied to prove the effect of participation in marathon on the rate of practical participation and satisfaction in livelihood.
513 amateur marathoners in Seoul and Gyeonggi regions, 2010, have been got to attend the study with the paper survey. They are all between the ages of 20 and 60. However, 498 sheets of surveys have had effects on the study because the investigator has excluded some sheets including false or untrustworthy answers or both.
At the first step of research, the investigator has visited to spread out the sheets of survey and distributed to some amateur marathoners. Next, the investigator explained how to fill out the sheets with the way of self-administration. Finally, the sheets have been collected after they filled out the sheets.
Answered sheets that are available to use have been analyzed by the statistic program called SPSS for windows version 12.0. Also the study has been finally excluded the sheets including none or insincere answers, and both. Because excluded sheets could have made the study low trustworthy.
They are the standard deviation, the average of each group, and the frequency analysis which have been used to analyze the sheets.
T-test and one-way ANOVA are use to prove trustworthy of the average of each group. One more, Sceffe’s is used to prove the items of notable difference (post-hoc). At last, notable level is set by p<0.5.
Followings are the effect of participation in marathon according to the feature of population sociology on participation motive and the rate of satisfaction in livelihood. They all refer to the feature of population statistics.
First, there are some differences in motivations with ages and jobs but sexualities. In ages, motivations have some notable differences like achievement, fun, sociality, health, physical strength, leisure, and abreact. In jobs, motivations have also have some notable differences like achievement, sociality, physical strength, leisure, and abreact.
According to the result of the research, practical participation on marathon and how many times participating in effect on sociality and fun. Of course the practical marathon participation and its intensity effect on health and physical strength. Lastly, participation in marathon effects on leisure and abreact.
Second, there are any notable difference in sexualities and their jobs. But elder people have high satisfaction in their livelihood.
Third, motives as variables about achievement, fun, sociality, health, physical strength, making use one’s leisure and abreact, effect on the rate of satisfaction of livelihood.
