고등학생이 지각한 부모의 양육태도와 진로성숙도 및 학업성취와의 관계

국문요약

본 연구는 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 그들의 발달 과업인 진로성숙과 당면한 과제인 학업성취에 부모의 양육태도가 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 밝혀 바람직한 부모자녀관계를 위한 부모 재교육 프로그램을 제공하여 학생들의 진로성숙과 학업성취를 높이는 부모양육태도를 활성화 시키는데 연구의 목적을 두었다.
본 연구 목적을 위해 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
첫째, 부모의 양육태도가 고등학생의 진로성숙도에 영향을 미치는가?
둘째, 부모의 양육태도가 고등학생의 학업성취와 관련이 있는가?
셋째, 진로성숙도가 고등학생의 학업성취와 상관이 있는가?
넷째, 부모의 양육태도는 진로성숙도를 매개로 하여 학업성취에 영향을 미치는가?
연구 문제를 해결하기 위하여 경기도 지역의 인문계 고등학교 2개교 1, 2, 3학년 370명을 대상으로 자기 보고식 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 측정 도구로는 오성심ㆍ이종승(1982)이 제작한 것을 임선화(1987)가 재편성한 부모자녀양육태도 지각검사 질문지, Crites(1978)의 진로성숙검사(CMI)를 토대로 우리나라 청소년을 대상으로 연구하여 이기학과 한종철(1997)이 개발한 진로성숙검사지, 학업성취를 비교하기 위하여 2010학년도 1학기말 학급 석차를 사용하였다. 수집된 설문 자료는 SPSS 12.0 프로그램을 이용하여 평균(M), 표준편차(SD)를 토대로 t검증, 상관분석, 회귀분석 등의 통계적 기법으로 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 부모의 양육태도와 고등학생의 진로성숙도와의 관계를 살펴본 결과 부모의 양육태도가 진로성숙도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 아버지의 양육태도 중 애정-적대 차원이 자녀의 결정성, 준비성, 독립성, 목적성, 확신성 총 5개의 하위 척도 모두에서 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 어머니의 양육태도도 애정-적대 차원에서 자녀의 준비성, 독립성, 확신성 3개 척도에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

둘째, 부모의 양육태도가 학업성취에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과는 기술적인 차원에서 부분적으로 차이가 있었지만 통계적으로는 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 고등학생의 진로성숙도와 학업성취와의 관계를 살펴본 결과 고등학생의 진로성숙도와 학업성취에는 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 진로성숙도를 매개로 한 부모의 양육태도가 고등학생의 학업성취에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아본 결과는 매개변인의 조건이 충족되지 않음으로 진로성숙도는 부모의 양육태도와 학업성취간의 매개 변인이 아닌 것으로 나타났다.
이러한 결과를 통해 부모의 애정적인 양육태도가 고등학생의 진로성숙도에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 진로성숙도는 학업성취와 매우 유의한 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타나 고등학생의 학업성취를 위해서는 다양한 진로교육 프로그램이 필요하며 진로성숙에는 무엇보다 부모의 양육태도가 유의하게 영향을 미치므로 애정적인 부모의 양육태도를 활성화시키기 위한 부모 교육에 관심을 가져야할 것이다.

The Inter-Relationship among the parent's
nurturing attitude as perceived by their child in
high school education, the student's career
maturity, and his academic achievement

This study is carried out firstly to find out how important role the parental nurturing attitude plays, if any, in the high school student's career maturity and academic achievement, and then to suggest a re-education program for the parents in order to establish the desirable parents-children relationship, and finally to offer a parental nurturing attitude that can raise the high school student's career maturity which is their development task and their academic achievement that they have to face.
In order to achieve this objective, the following questionaires have been set out :
(1) Does the parent's nurturing attitude influence the career maturity of high school students ?
(2) Is there any relationship between the parent's nurturing attitude and their children in the high school education ?
(3) Is there any relationship between the high school student's career muturity and his academic achievement ?
(4) Does the parent's nurturing attitude affect the career maturity of their child in the high school education which in turn affects his academic achievement ?
For this research work. a set of self-filled questionaires were collected from altogether 370 students who had been randomly chosen from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students in 2 academic high schools in Kyeonggi-Do.
The measurement tools used are : (1) The questionaires of the perception tests of the parental nurturing attitude that were originally devised by Oh-Sung-Shim & Lee-Jong-Seung (1982) and then modified by Lim-Sun-Hwa(1987). (2) The Career Matrurity Inspection devised by Crites(1978),that was reorganized by Lee-Ki-Hak & Han-Jong-Chul(1997) in order to study specifically about Korean Young Students. (3) The class standing resulting from the first term-examination of the 2010 academic year was used to measure the academic achievements. The SPSS 1.20 was used to analyze the collected materials, applying statistical techniques such as Student t-test, Regression Analysis, and Correlation Analysis, based on Arithmetic Mean(M) and Standard Deviation(SD).
The outcome of this study may be summarized as follows :
Firstly, it was ascertained that the parental nurturing attitude has a significant influence on the career maturity of the students. The father's nurturing attitude, particularly love-hate relationship, has a significant influence in the 5 aspects such as decisiveness, preparedness, independence, purposefulness, and self-confidence of all the lower scoring students. Whereas, the mother's nurturing attitude, in the love-hate dimension, has a significant influence only in the 3 areas such as preparedness, independence, and self-confidence.
Secondly, The result of the study shows that the parental nurturing attitude makes only technically different, but not statistically significant different, influence on the student's academic achievement.
Thirdly, there was a very high statistically significant correlationship between the career maturity and the academic achievement of the high school students.
Fourthly, the career maturity does not play any significant part in the interrelationship between parental nurturing attitude and the academic achievement of the high school student.
In conclusion, it has been proven that the loving nurturing attitude of the parent has a significant effect on the career maturity of the high school student, and the career maturity and the academic achievement have a very significant static correlationship. Therefore, It is important to have an edification programme for the parents in order to activate the loving nurturing attitude of the parent, since it is necessary to have a various programme of education on the student's career. and the parental nurturing attitude has the greatest effect on the student's career maturity.
