여대생의 완벽주의 성향이 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to provide basic information and materials in building up the female college students' career guidance and counseling program by examining the effects of perfectionism on career decision level and career preparation behavior of female college students.
In order to solve the above-mentioned purpose, the following research problems were set up. First, how do relationships have among perfectionism, career decision level and career preparation behavior of female college students? Second, how does perfectionism affect career decision level of female college students? Third, how does perfectionism affect career preparation behavior of female college students?
To this end, data was collected using instruments to measure perfectionism, career decision level, career preparation behavior of 526 female students at five university in Seoul. Correlation analysis, regression analysis were used as statistical methods to be processed data with SPSS 12.0 program.
The results of this study are as follows: First, there were statistically significant negative correlations between doubt about action, concern about mistake, parental criticism, parental expectation in perfectionism's sub factors and career decision level. But there were statistically significant positive correlations between organization, personal standard, parental expectation in perfectionism's sub factors and career preparation behavior.
Second, doubt about action, concern about mistake, personal standard in perfectionism's sub factors had significant influence on career decision level of female college students. Among the sub factors of perfectionism, doubt about action level and concern about mistake level are lower, personal standard level is higher, it confirmed that career decision level of female college students rises.
Third, personal standard, organization, doubt about action in perfectionism's sub factors had significant influence on career preparation behavior of female college students. Among the sub factors of perfectionism, personal standard level and organization level are higher, doubt about action level is lower, it confirmed that career preparation behavior level of female college students rises.
As a result of investigating the influence of perfectionism on career decision level and career preparation behavior of female college students, perfectionism proved to have statistically significant influences on career decision level and career preparation behavior. Among the sub-factors of perfectionism except personal standard, doubt about action and concern about mistake had significant negative influences on career decision level of female college students. But among the sub-factors of perfectionism except doubt about action, personal standard and organization had significant positive influences on career preparation behavior of female college students.
Perfectionism turned out to have significant positive influences or negative influences on career decision level and career preparation behavior of female college students. Therefore, counselors when career counseling with female college students with perfectionism should help not only to improve client's maladaptive perfectionism but also to utilize client's adaptive perfectionism and resources.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 여자대학생의 완벽주의 성향과 진로결정수준 및 진로준비행동이 어떠한 관계가 있는지 살펴보고, 여자대학생의 완벽주의 성향이 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동에 대해 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 따라서 이러한 연구의 결과를 경쟁적이고 성취지향적인 우리 사회에서 경기침체로 인해 고학력 취업난을 겪고 있는 여대생들에게 더욱 효과적인 진로지도 및 상담을 위한 기초 자료로 제공하는데 목적이 있다.
이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 선정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 여대생의 완벽주의와 진로결정수준 및 진로준비행동은 어떠한 관계가 있는가 둘째, 여대생의 완벽주의는 진로결정수준에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가 셋째, 여대생의 완벽주의는 진로준비행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가에 대해 알아볼 것이다.
이상의 연구문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 서울 지역에 소재한 5개 대학에 재학 중인 여대생 526명을 대상으로 설문지를 배포하여 완벽주의, 진로결정수준, 진로준비행동 수준을 측정하고, SPSS 12.0을 사용해서 상관분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였다.
이에 따른 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 여대생의 완벽주의와 진로결정수준 및 진로준비행동은 어떠한 관계가 있는가를 확인한 결과, 진로결정수준은 완벽주의의 하위변인인 수행에 대한 의심, 실수에 대한 염려, 부모의 비난, 부모의 기대와 유의한 부적상관이 나타났으며, 진로준비행동은 완벽주의의 하위변인인 조직화, 개인적 기준, 부모의 기대와 유의한 정적상관이 나타났다. 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동 간에는 유의한 정적상관이 나타났다.
둘째, 여대생의 완벽주의가 진로결정수준에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 확인한 결과, 완벽주의의 하위변인 중에서 수행에 대한 의심, 실수에 대한 염려, 개인적 기준은 진로결정수준을 유의하게 예측하였다. 즉 수행에 대한 의심과 실수에 대한 염려 수준이 낮을수록, 개인적 기준 수준이 높을수록 여대생의 진로결정수준은 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 진로결정수준에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 완벽주의 하위변인 중에서 개인적 기준을 제외하면 수행에 대한 의심, 실수에 대한 염려가 진로결정수준에 주로 부적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 여대생의 완벽주의가 진로준비행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 확인한 결과, 완벽주의의 하위변인 중에서 개인적 기준, 조직화, 수행에 대한 의심이 진로준비행동 수준을 유의하게 예측하였다. 즉 개인적 기준과 조직화 수준이 높을수록, 수행에 대한 의심 수준이 낮을수록 여대생의 진로준비행동 수준은 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 진로준비행동에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 완벽주의 하위변인 중에서 수행에 대한 의심을 제외하면, 개인적 기준과 조직화가 진로준비행동에 주로 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
이러한 결과를 종합해보면, 완벽주의가 하위변인에 따라 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동에 각각 다른 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 진로결정수준에는 완벽주의의 하위변인들이 주로 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 진로준비행동에는 완벽주의의 하위변인들이 주로 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 완벽주의 성향을 가진 내담자들의 진로지도와 상담에서 완벽주의가 하위변인에 따라 긍정적 또는 부정적으로 작용할 수 있음을 이해하고, 부적응적인 완벽주의에 대한 교정적 상담뿐만 아니라 내담자의 강점과 자원을 활용하여 적응적인 완벽주의 성향이 잘 발휘될 수 있도록 돕는다면, 진로상담의 효과를 더욱 높일 수 있을 것이다.
