리얼 버라이어티 쇼 출연자의 캐릭터 이미지와 헤어스타일 이미지 비교 분석 : MBC <무한도전>을 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As a Netherlandish cultural historian J. Huizinga said, "Recreation has become the origin for the formation of all the cultures", a culture is being created in the place where people are delighted. In the 21st century, the culture is provided to the general public through various media thanks to the development of information, communication, and TV entertainment contents among which are leading the popular culture by reducing the differences between fiction and nonfiction through the genre of Real Variety. <Infinite Challenge>, Korea's first real variety, is a program where realistic performances take place in the form of no-script under the condition that many players, not just one player, are qualified as the MC. The character image of the player is formed through the way of performing the mission given by the PD, and among the elements which form the image, the hair style is expected to have a deep influence on superimposing the character image.
Therefore, the research's purpose is to examine the effect that the hair style image has on the character image formation, by examining the character images of 7 MCs in <Infinite Challenge>, and the significance of this study is revealed by systematically analyzing the interrelationship between the character image and the hair style image on the basis of 'Appropriate Hair Theory' proposed in 「Counseling Cut & Color」(1999) by Imai Hideo(今井英夫).
The summary and results of this research are as follows.
First, Imai Hideo divided the character and hair image into Orthodox Zone's Mannish Image and Intelligent Image, Cool Zone's Sharp Image and Modern Image, Feminine Zone's Chic Image and Elegant Image, Romantic Zone's Cute Image and Contemporary Image, Natural Zone's Casual Image and Neutral Image in 'Appropriate Hair Theory'. Conservative taste, sharp taste, modern taste, and soft taste are included as influential elements, and the hair style was expressed in the form of lozenge. The texture introduced the beeline touch as I in the characteristic shape of Alphabetic I, J, C and S, and introduced the curve type with J Curl, C Curl, S Curl according to the wave form, and the style is determined by the combination of the form and texture. In case of the color, level l of low dark color pursues the calm depth and formalizes orthodox Zone in level 5 of mid-tone, and in 5 levels of values, the colors where red, wine, and ash are strongly appeared as Cool Zone. Feminine Zone which the natural color of level 3 belongs to, a little brighter than the original hair(black) as middle level of value, is central, and the Romantic Zone is expressed with Yellow and Orange which are finished by the bright color of level 10.
Second, considering the character images of the players in <Infinite Challenge>, no change took place in Yoo Jaeseok as Orthodox Zone, Park Myeongsoo as Cool Zone, and there were profound changes in Jung Junha as Romantic Zone, Feminine Zone, Natural Zone and Cool Zone. Jung Hyeongdon was expressed as Natural Zone and Cool Zone, Noh Hongcheol as Cool Zone, HaHa as Romantic Zone, and Gil as Cool Zone. Considering the hair style images, Yoo Jaeseok was changed to Cool Zone, Orthodox Zone and Feminine Zone, Park Myeongsoo to Cool Zone, Jung Junha to Feminine Zone and Orthodox Zone, Jung Hyeongdon to Cool Zone and Orthodox Zone, Noh Hongcheol to Cool Zone and Romantic Zone, HaHa to Orthodox Zone and Cool Zone, and Gil to Cool Zone.
The results of this research showed that there are the synergic effects of the characters when the character image and hair style image correspond more, and that the change in the hair style image is an important factor of changing the character image.
We hope that this research will be able to provide the theoretical data of systematically analyzing the interrelationship between the character image and hair style image, and that an empirical study to systematize the image will constantly be made in the future.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

네덜란드 문화 사학자인 호이징아(J. Huizinga)가 “놀이가 모든 문화 형성의 기원이 되었다”고 말한 것 같이 인간이 즐거워하는 곳에서 문화가 만들어지고 있다. 21세기에는 문화가 정보통신의 발달로 다양한 매체를 통해 대중에게 제공되고 있는데, 그 중 텔레비전의 연예오락 콘텐츠가 리얼 버라이어티라는 장르로 픽션과 논픽션의 차이를 줄여가며 대중문화를 선도하고 있다.
국내 최초의 리얼 버라이어티 쇼인 <무한도전>은 한 명이 아닌 여러 명의 출연자가 MC형태를 갖추어 미대본 형식으로 다양한 쇼를 현실감 있게 진행해가는 프로그램이다. PD가 부여하는 미션을 해결해 나가는 방식을 통해 출연자의 캐릭터 이미지가 형성될 뿐 아니라 이미지를 형성하는 요인 가운데 헤어스타일이 캐릭터 이미지를 부각시키는데 많은 영향을 미칠 것으로 사료된다.
따라서 <무한도전> 7명 MC의 캐릭터 이미지를 알아보고 헤어스타일 이미지가 캐릭터 이미지 형성에 미치는 영향을 고찰하는데 연구의 목적이 있으며 이마이 히데오(今井英夫)의 「Counseling Cut & Color」(1999)에 제시된 ‘어울리는 헤어 이론’을 근거로 하여 캐릭터 이미지와 헤어스타일 이미지의 상관성을 체계적으로 분석하는데 연구의 의의가 있다.
본 연구의 요약 및 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫&#51760;, 이마이 히데오는 ‘어울리는 헤어 이론’에서 캐릭터와 헤어이미지를 옥서독스 존의 매니시 이미지와 인텔리전트 이미지, 쿨 존의 샤프 이미지와 모던 이미지, 페미닌 존의 시크 이미지와 엘리건트 이미지, 로맨틱 존의 큐트 이미지와 컨템퍼러리 이미지, 내추럴 존의 캐주얼 이미지와 뉴트럴 이미지로 분류하였다. 영향을 주는 요소로는 콘서버티브 테이스트, 샤프 테이스트, 모던 테이스트, 소프트 테이스트가 있으며 헤어스타일의 형태는 마름모꼴로 표현하였다. 질감은 알파벳 I, J, C, S라는 특징적인 형상에서 직선 터치를 I로, 웨이브 형태에 따라서 J컬, C컬, S컬로 곡선의 타입을 상정하였고, 형태와 질감의 조합으로 스타일이 정해진다. 컬러는 명도가 중간 밝기의 5레벨에서 아래 어두운 색인 1레벨은 침착한 깊음을 추구하면서 오서독스 존을 형상화 하고, 5레벨의 명도로 레드와 와인, 애쉬 등이 강한 색은 쿨 존을, 중간 레벨의 명도로 원래 모발(블랙)보다 조금 밝은 3레벨의 내추럴 컬러가 중심이 되는 페미닌 존, 10레벨의 밝은 색으로 마무리되는 옐로우와 오렌지 등으로 표현하는 로맨틱 존으로 나타난다.
둘째, <무한도전> 출연자들의 캐릭터 이미지로는 유재석은 옥서독스 존, 박명수는 쿨 존으로 변화가 없었고, 정준하는 로맨틱 존, 페미닌 존, 내추럴 존, 쿨 존으로 변화가 많았다. 정형돈은 내추럴 존과 쿨 존, 노홍철은 쿨 존, 하하는 로맨틱 존, 길은 쿨 존으로 나타났다. 헤어스타일 이미지로는 유재석은 쿨 존, 옥서독스 존, 페미닌 존으로 변화하였고 박명수는 쿨존, 정준하는 페미닌 존과 옥서독스 존, 정형돈은 쿨존과 옥서독스 존, 노홍철은 쿨 존과 로맨틱 존, 하하는 옥서독스 존과 쿨 존, 길은 쿨 존으로 나타났다.
연구 결과 캐릭터 이미지와 헤어스타일 이미지가 일치될수록 캐릭터의 상승효과가 있음을 알 수 있었고 캐릭터 이미지를 변화하기 위해서 헤어스타일 이미지 변화가 중요한 요소임을 알 수 있었다.
본 연구가 캐릭터 이미지와 헤어스타일 이미지의 상관성을 체계적으로 분석하는데 이론적 자료를 제공을 하고 앞으로 이미지를 체계화 하는 실증적인 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지기를 바란다.
