Nomadism means the philosophical and artistic trends to seek for the new value through continuous self-negation and changes without being arrested by the certain values and the ways of life. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the various nomadic changes shown in the visual art on the basis of ‘Deleuze's art theory,’ focusing a flexible philosophy, Nomadism on the visual art. The visual expressions based on the nomadic lifes and spirits appeared moving infinitely without the border of specific reason, which are going through various changes from ancient nomadic tribes to modern digital culture. The art works of ancient nomads who live their own life by immigration locally has gorgeous decoration characteristics and show the percussive expressions, and their mobility and eruption of power appear in a pattern filled in the works fully. Unlike the expressions of settlers, those of nomads show the torn and splitted cubism, and dismantled bodies in expressing the lives. They do not reproduce the types to be shown and the desires to escape from the fixed stereotype show the powerful forces to escape from the fixation as like the spire that is like blazing fire of catholic church in the era of Gothic as they are de-territorialized from the original. The Medieval art has religious characteristics enough to be called christian art and the art performance passing through the Renaissance, Modern and Current reaches to the modern art having various variations. As the art historian, Worringer and Riegl considered the art history of a continuous flow. They arranged the form of art history through "artistic motivation" and "abstract and emotional empathy" for the changed flow of art taking into account the problems in the form. It is said that the changes of form are shown as the variation of artistic performance through human social activities and environmental changes, however artistic forms are newly developed by the inside artistic motivation and aesthetic impulse.
The changes of art works before 20th century such as the impressionism which expresses the type depending on the changes of light into the flow of color, the fouvism which expresses the harmony of strong color by reinterpreting the original color, the cubism which requires the multi-view (多視點) by dismantling the objects into the polygons of cube, the expressionism which reveals the emotion of author, etc. represent the stylistic changes focusing on the times and characters. However, the art works after the middle of 20 century are pluralistic, vague and flexible. For the arts of this times, they are specialized in external appearance gradually and the arts seized by the social, cultural, institutional fields in addition to one of economical has been spreaded gradually, medialized and popularized. The art works are progressing with the renunciation and transformation of genre in a fast speed as like keeping pace with rapidly changing social flow.
On the other hand, the arts are satisfied with the modern style by making the most weird works. The types of arts have been separated in genre with works which reveal the new sense and plant the freedom of expression and other concepts and frequently gone and come the expressive material and techniques, and gone out after new concepts of works which introduce the new media and technology. The modern arts which the homogeneity of western art history had been shattered has been come across the physical certainty of paintings and immaterial certainty in the air, and the artists have adapted all expressive ways and infringed the prohibited subjects. In addition, they reversed the unique cultural order, leaped over all borders, explored and added new areas every day. The arts give us the feelings of various visual meaning changes as they are creating the continuity of new creation in ways of 'rhizomatic structure' called by Deleuze and Gatari. The kinetics representing visual motion to express the movable time in the still plane shakes getting out of the fixed objects into unpredictable direction with self movement and mechanical movement repeatedly. The artists express their thoughts and emotions into various media changing the place and going out of the closed working space and canvas. They wrap the mother nature up or go to other countries to follow the homogeneous material properties and express their thoughts. Not to speak of times, the artists do physical and mental penance and express their desires which have been changed as the newness and madness in expressive areas into the multi-layered visual arts.
The artists who are denying themselves and finding out new self did not settled in one place and their works will be changed by the new concept of creative activities. The intend of this paper is to see the Nomadism characteristics and various differences base on Deleuze's art theory, an another form of 'generative philosophy'
