The purpose of this study is to examine self esteem of elementary school students with disabilities and their attitude toward other elementary school children depending on gender, age, years of experience in resourceroom, the types of disabilities, and the relationship between their self esteem and attitude toward the non-disabled children.
This study was conducted using 50 elementary students with disabilities in integrated classes. For statistical analysis of the data, mean, standard deviation, t-test, AVOVA, and Pearson's correlation were used.
The results of this study are as follows;
First, self esteem of elementary school students with disabilities according to gender, years of experience in resourceroom, the types of disabilities showed no meaningful difference. But according to age, there was a significant difference. Upper grade children are more negative than lower grade children.
Second, the attitude of elementary school students with disabilities toward the non-disabled children using gender, age, years of experience in resourceroom, the types of disabilities as variables showed no significant difference.
Third, the relationship between self esteem of elementary school students with disabilities and their attitude toward non-disabled children showed significant correlation. In particular, self esteem school sub-catagories were found to be significantly correlated with the attitude emotion sub-catagories.
