미디어 이벤트적 과학뉴스의 보도경향 비교연구 : 한국 우주인 배출사업과 나로호 발사 보도를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

기존의 과학관련 언론보도 연구들은 화학, 물리, 생물, 나노과학, 농수산과 같은 전문성을 중심으로 분류되어 연구되었을 뿐 아직까지 과학보도에서 특정한 성격을 나타내고 있는 보도만을 따로 분류하여 보도경향을 연구한 경우는 드물었다.
이 연구에서는 한국 우주인 배출사업과 나로호 발사보도를 천문이나 우주과학이라는 전문성의 측면이 아닌 미디어 이벤트라는 저널리즘적 측면에서 기사를 선정하여 내용분석(Content analysis)을 통해 기존에 이루어졌던 일반과학보도 분석과는 어떤 차이 및 특성을 보이는지를 알아보았다. 또한 기존에 미디어 이벤트에서 연구되었던 프레임 분석과 함께 언론사별로 보도경향에 어떤 차이를 보이는지도 살펴보았다. 연구 결과 기사의 보도량과, 게재된 지면, 기사의 정보채널과 복합성 구성에서 이 들만의 특징을 발견할 수 있었다. 또한 프로젝트의 성공 여부에 따라 프레임과 논조에 변화가 있다는 것과 언론사에 따라 기사논조의 차이가 있다는 것을 발견할 수 있었다.
이 연구는 미디어 이벤트적 성격을 띈 과학보도의 보도 경향에 대한 초기 연구이다. 미디어 이벤트적 과학보도의 특징을 찾아냈다는 것에 나름의 의의를 두며 추후 더 발전된 미디어 이벤트적 과학보도 분석이 있기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Precedent studies have categorized science-journal according to the academic field such as chemical, physics, biology, nano-technology ect. There are only few studies have scrutinized the science-journal based on the reporting features.
This study attempts to choose the topic 'Naro-1 failure' and 'Korea's first astronaut' in the journalism perspective which is called 'media event', not in the academic field approach. Then, the study analyzed the content and finds out the features and difference with the precedent studies' results. Frame analysis of media event in precedent studies and report features according to the press are also studied.
The study finds features of report quantity, report section, channel, and complex. It is also found that the report tone depends on success of the project and the press.
This is the pilot study on the science-journal's features in media event perspective. The study has the meaning that the science-journal's features in media event perspective are found and further developed study on science-journal in media event perspective are expected.
