This research has purpose on making individual donators to continuously participate in small donations as the private sector for personal donation compositions are required together with changes in society and has significance in suggesting donation revitalization plan through theoretical formulation, practices and perceptions of literature and previous studies so that 'enterprises-nonprofit organizations-customers(individual donators)' can all 'win-win-win'.
For this purpose, the theoretical concept of donation has been organized through reviewing relevant theory and previous research. The necessity of donation culture, characteristics and problems of national donation culture, paradigm of donation has also been studied. As a result, national donation level is very inadequate comparing to developed countries and if this insufficient social security system and conflict structure left untreated, the sustainability of society and conflicts between layers will become a big threat. Therefore, the nation’s financial limits should be solved by nongovernmental organization hence the need for donation revitalization is urgently required. The characteristics and problems of nation’s donation culture is that the ratio of private donators is very insufficient and it shows high dependence on corporate donations but even that ends in a one-time event. Donations are limited to poor neighbors and it has negative perceptions by companies using donations as amnesty for illegal acts. The form of donation is passive and irregular so it seems necessary to improve the way of it. On the other hand, the paradigm of donation has been changed through evolution of society. There is few paradigm of national donation culture such as the increase of companies’ social contribution, the introduction of the Internet donation method, the spread of participation among individuals and the diversity of participation form through consumption.
Case studies and surveys were carried out based on it. Considering nation’s well-developed Internet environment and donation process to be developed through it, ‘internet reward service sites’, which may benefit cooperation partners, reward service providers and consumers, were studied in order to benefit all the related partners: companies, nonprofit organizations and individual donators. Judging from the advantages and possibility of success of the ‘reward services’, a widespread survey was carried out towards individual beneficiaries and PR people of corporate donators by showing ‘internet reward service site’ and questioning their general impression on donation, the way and means of donation, and what factors prevent donation. The survey result showed that individuals and PR people of corporate donators are largely positive in their perception towards ‘internet reward service site’. The individual beneficiaries’ who have positive impression tend to have higher intention to use ‘the site’ continuously. And corporate donors tend to prefer ‘the site’ to other alternatives when there is an external deterrent factor which makes donations difficult.
Based upon the qualitative and quantitative studies, ‘reward donation sites’ through reward service have been suggested as a mean to accelerate social donation.
This reward service site means a new design to create benefits to all the participants, namely corporate donors, nonprofit organizations and consumers (individual donors). This study suggests basic concept of the reward donation site, the business structure of it, goods and services, the role and benefits of participants and the further research for its development.
