Children have suffered large and small damage from school violence. School violence might be very serious in light of the fact that victims of such violence could become assailants and vice-versa and children are likely to get temporary sufferings and long-term aftereffect.
School violence is mainly due to the experiences of domestic violence which affects deeply the growth of children. This study is focused on elementary school children who have the experience of domestic violence and on the relations between them and school violence. Through this, I tried to find out various relations among experiences of domestic violence, school violence and their influences.
Children's experiences of domestic violence and school violence were researched and analyzed, and the results are as follows.
Firstly, children showed some experience of domestic violence but it was not a serious level. The degree of experience of domestic violence was low and among them the degree of nonintervention showed the lowest.
Secondly, Men showed mainly experience of physical violence while women experience of emotional violence at home. Men showed much higher level of experience than that of women in the whole range of physical violence, emotional violence and non-intervention of domestic violence. In terms of grade, students who had middle grade showed the highest level in physical violence but statistically, experience of physical violence was equally discovered regardless of high or low grade.
Thirdly, in terms of victims of school violence, men suffered largely physical violence and the violence of being ostracized for women. In terms of assailants of school violence, men showed mainly physical violence, while women showing emotional violence. In terms of physical violence, emotional violence, extortion of money, bullying and ostracization, the level of school violence by men was higher than that by women.
Fourthly, correlations between domestic violence damage and school violence one indicated that higher experience of domestic violence tends to deepen more the damage by school violence. And experience of domestic violence increased school violence.
