The purpose of this study was to examine the career decision-making self-efficacy of university students and the influential factors on it in Jinju, Gyeong-Nam Province, in an effort to provide some information for providing efficient career guidance to university students.
The subjects of this study were 500 students in a university located in Jinju. The questionnaire used in this study was prepared based on relevant literature and earlier studies and under the guidance of the advisor.
Major findings of the study were as follows:
First, the students who were male and who were better satisfied with their departments placed higher value on their own career decision- making self-efficacy and its subfactors than their counterparts. It suggests that more intensive career guidance should be provided to female college students.
Second, satisfaction level with the department had a significant impact on the university students' career decision-making self-efficacy. It implies that every department of university should make efforts to boost students' satisfaction level with it in diverse ways.
