The study focuses on raising awareness about importance of correlations between middle schoolers' motivation behind after-school sports program and self-efficiency as well as self-esteem. By shedding light on how geographic and social statistical characteristics impact students' motivation behind the school sports program as well as difference between self-efficiency and self-esteem, between the motivation and self-efficiency and between the motivation and self-esteem, the study provides academic basis for the importance of motivating students to keep pursuing sports activity for the rest of their life. In dosing so, the study may not only contribute to upgrading quality of after-school sports program and activity as well as raising awareness about the importance. In addition, the study aims to induce students to take part in after-school sports program and thereby provides students with sufficient motivation to pursue sports activity for the rest of their lives.
To that end, the study involved students of a middle school located in G county , Gyunggi Province, who took extracurricular sports program, and then produced sampling group. By using convenience sampling method, the study examined a total of 181 subjects.
The study used questionnaire which was revised and supplemented. It also used Cronbach's ⍺ to verify plausibility and reliaibility of the questionnaire so that subjects may respond to questions using self-administration method. As part of effort to verify hypothesis on which the study is based, the study used Window SPSS/PC+ 17.0 version to conduct analysis of frequency, exploratory factors, t-test, correlations and multiple regression while at the same time setting significance range at ⍺= .05.
By using the research methods mentioned above, the study analyzed correlations of the motivation with self-efficiency and self-esteem to produce the following result.
First, No significant difference in the motivation and self-efficiency was found between males and females. As far as inferiority complex is concerned, however, it was more evident among male students than among females.
As for the internal and external motivation making up motivation examined based on school grade, 2nd graders were found to be more highly motivated than 1st graders. In addition, 2nd graders were better than 1st graders in terms of sense of efficiency and self-confidence constituting self-efficiency. In regard to task difficulty representing self-efficiency, 1st graders were found to be better than 2nd graders. In terms of self-satisfaction and sense of inferiority considered part of self-esteem, 2nd graders were found to have higher self-esteem than 1st graders.

What's more, healthy groups were found better than normal groups with regard to self-esteem found in self-satisfaction.
Second, the motivation turned out to have benign effect on self-efficiency. In particular, the internal motivation was found to have static impact on sense of efficiency, self-confidence and task difficulty constituting self-efficiency.
Third, the motivation was found to have benign effect on self-esteem, while the internal motivation was found to have static impact on self-satisfaction constituting self-esteem.
Fourth, self-efficiency was found to have positive impact on self-esteem, while sense of efficiency constituting self-efficiency was found to have static imact on self-satisfaction as part of self-esteem. In addition, self-confidence and task difficulty were found to have static impact on sense of inferiority.
