As the era of Ubiquitous comes, the utilization of Internet is always possible anytime and anywhere. This also influences handphones and the smart phone which brought about the word of 'PC in a Hand' becomes popular. Namely, various age groups including elementary, middle and high school students got to use the smart phone.
From the 7th educational course, for the cultivation of self-directed learning ability based on the self-control and originality, it is recommended that the direction activity area is expanded and as for the difficult learning contents which are not easy to directly experience from the curriculum learning, the filed experience learning using the educational facilities of the local society/cultural assets/scenic spots and places of historic interest/living places of the regional residents by deviating the school education are suggested.
Considering these two backgrounds, this study is going to develop the field experience support system based on the smart phone by connecting education and the smart phone technology. The development course of the system is proceeded as below.
First, it is going to analyze the system of the existing field experience learning and examine its trend. It is also going to investigate what kinds of education the students are receiving and what goal it is targeting.
Second, considering the educational effects and functional effects at the same time, it is going to design a scenario. Various and interesting items which are able to make students have motives and interest in will be found. In addition, it is going to plan a program by connecting learning. A program should be made by utilizing various functions of the smart phone.
Third, when a scenario is completed, the environment for development will be established. The development environment and development language and development tool are selected and the embodiment of the full-scale program is made by using them.
Fourth, the support system after completed development directly experiments and is verified. The embodied program using an emulator is experienced in person and the strong and weak points and supplementary matters of the program are studied.
This study will be proceeded through the above courses and the field experience learning system based on the smart phone will be developed.
