The 7 picture-books utilized by this study were selected according to 5 subjects of philanthropy. The activity of philanthropic education utilizingpicture books had been conducted twice or three times a week for 6 weeks from April 5th, 2010 to May 13th, 2010.

The children's realization about the 5 sub-elements of the contents of philanthropic education that are concept of philanthropy, necessity of philanthropy, the objects for philanthropy, people practicing philanthropy, and practice methods of philanthropy has changed positively. Before the activity of philanthropic education, most of the children realized the concept of the philanthropy based on their relationship with friends and the people they like or lacked the understanding and information about the others who need sharing and practice methods for sharing. After the activity of philanthropic education, however, children's width of realization about the concept of philanthropy widened. They also came to realize that there are many people who are in need around them through specific information about the necessary situation and objects for sharing. Moreover, they learned about more positive and various practice methods for philanthropy. That is, the activity of philanthropic education has improved the children's realization about philanthropy entirely.
Secondly, the activity of philanthropic education utilizingpicture books has a positive effect on young children's prosocial behavior. It was proved that there was noticeable difference about the children's prosocial behavior between the experiment group before the activity of philanthropic education and after the activity of philanthropic education and also between the experiment group with the activity of philanthropic education and the comparison group without it. It suggests that the activity of philanthropic education utilizing picture book focused on sharing furthers young children's realization about philanthropy and prosocial behavior.
