This study was to examine the relationship between perceived leadership of employee, job satisfaction and organizational commitment in banking organizations context. This research also was to suggest efficient methods of human resource management of banking organizations.
For these purposes the author developed a model which consists of several constructs. In this model, leadership that consists of transformational leadership (charisma, inspirational motivation, intellectural stimulation, individual consideration) and transactional leadership (contigent reward, passive management-by-exception, active management-by-exception) was proposed to improve job satisfaction, psychological organizational commitment and to lower intention to leave.
To test unidimensionality and validity of the measures of each construct, exploratory factor analysis for each construct and measurement model for all constructs were employed.
The data were analyzed with regression analyses with SPSS/PC+ 14.0K. The statistics fits the data well. The findings can be summarized as follows:
First, the greater the charisma/inspirational motivation leadership, the greater the employee's job satisfaction and psychological organizational commitment. Second, the greater the contingent reward, the greater the employee's job satisfaction and psychological organizational commitment.
