결혼이주여성의 생애사 연구 = A study on immigrant women who married Koreans by life history

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 생애사를 통하여 개별주체인 결혼이주여성의 삶의 경험을 드러내어 결혼이주여성의 이주적응을 어렵게 만드는 부정적인 집단 이미지에서 벗어나 보고자 하였다.
본 연구의 연구결과를 아래와 같이 요약할 수 있다.
첫째, ‘조선족 = 위장결혼’이라는 이미지는 조선족은 물론 한족도 출신국이 중국이라는 이유만으로 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 베트남의 경우 출신국이 가난하다는 이유로 국제결혼에 불순한 의도가 있는 것으로 비춰지고 있었다. 이처럼 출신국으로 집단화된 결혼이주여성에 대한 부정적인 이미지는 결혼이주여성의 이주적응에 걸림돌이 된다.
둘째, 결혼 전 경제적으로 독립한 경험과 주위의 반대를 무릅쓰고 본인의 의지로 국제결혼을 선택하였다는 점은 이주적응에 긍정적인 영향을 준다.
셋째, 국제결혼의 경우 세대차이나 언어소통의 어려움으로 부부갈등이 많았다. 이러한 부부갈등을 해결하기 위해서는 결혼이주여성의 노력과 함께 한국인 남편과 가족들이 관심과 애정을 갖고 결혼이주여성이 한국사회에 적응할 때 까지 보조자로서의 역할을 해주어야 한다.
끝으로 결혼이주여성에 대한 긍정적인 이미지가 부각될 수 있도록 초기 정착한 결혼이주여성에 대한 긍정적인 사례가 많이 발굴될 필요성이 있다. 이는 이주 부적응의 시기를 극복하여 잘 정착한 결혼이주여성은 물론 이주 부적응의 시기를 극복해야 하는 결혼이주여성이 한국사회에 정착하는 데에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

There are some the negative collectivized images, but they provoke many problems. We deal with one of them which is related to newly immigrant married women's settlement and adaptation. In other words, such negative collectivized images create their difficulties.
We can grasp these facts through their actual experiences. The purpose of this research is thus to reconsider the images on the immigrant women who are individual subject in their own life.
The results could be summarized as follows:
First is concerned on the actual reality in Korean society that is nothing but the result of our prejudice in general. 'Cho-Sun-People is equal to a fraud marriage'. Such image can be equally applied to Han people only because they are from China. The Vietnamese women are also considered as being dishonest from the motive of the international marriage only because their country is poor. Such negative views on immigrant women's nationality create major barriers on the settlement and the adaptation of immigrant women in Korean society.
Second, there are some positive sides of the marriage immigration. There are not only the individual decision to the international marriage despite of objections, but also they already experienced the financial independence before international marriage. Those elementary experience positive erect on the settlement and the adaptation of immigrant women in Korean society.
Third, there are so much tensions in the conjugal relation largely due to the gap in their ages and to the langage problem of the communication. Such troubles can be eliminated by both married immigrant women's effort and Korean husbands' care and his family's affection. And they should play crucial roles as assistants until immigrant women settle and adapt to Korean Society.
Finally, it is necessary to find more positive cases of married immigrant women who have been settled and adapted to Korean society. It can also provide future immigrant women with more positive images. Such an effort can make the positive influence on the immigrant women who have to overcome their maladjustment period, and eventually to settle well in the Korean society.
