초등 영재의 진로성숙도 향상을 위한 집단상담 프로그램 개발 = The Development of Group Counseling Program to Improve Career Maturity of Gifted Students in Elementary School

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 초등 영재를 대상으로 진로성숙도 향상 집단상담 프로그램을 구안하고 실시하여 진로성숙도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 검증하는데 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등 영재의 진로성숙도 향상을 위한 집단상담 프로그램은 어떻게 구안되어야 하는가? 둘째, 초등 영재의 진로성숙도 향상을 위한 집단상담 프로그램은 초등 영재의 진로성숙도 향상에 효과가 있는가를 밝히는 것이다.
연구대상은 경기도 S시 H초등학교 5, 6학년 영재 학생들 중 집단상담에 참여를 원하는 학생들을 대상으로 실험집단 12명과 통제집단 12명으로 구성하였다.
진로성숙도 향상을 위한 집단상담 프로그램은 박인우(1995)의 상담프로그램 개발 모형을 바탕으로 총 12회기로 구안하여 주 2회 6주에 걸쳐 실시하였다.
검사도구로는 안창규(2003)의 Holland 진로발달검사를 사용하였고, 자료처리는 SPSS/Windows 10.0에서 혼합변량분석(Mixed ANOVA)을 사용하여 통계 결과를 분석하였으며, 양적 연구의 한계를 보완하기 위하여 집단원의 경험보고서와 상담자의 관찰내용을 분석하여 제시하였다.
이 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 초등 영재의 진로성숙도 향상 집단상담 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단의 진로성숙도 변화가 통제집단의 변화와 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 진로성숙도의 하위영역별 분석 결과에서 실험집단의 ‘진로선택의 합리성’ 영역에서는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나, ‘진로지향성’, ‘직업의 이해’, ‘직업적 성 편견’, ‘자기이해’, ‘자율성’, ‘자긍심’ 영역에서의 변화는 통제집단의 변화와 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 집단원의 경험보고서, 상담자의 관찰내용을 분석해 본 결과에서도 이 프로그램이 초등 영재의 진로성숙도를 높이는데 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
이 연구의 시사점은 초등 영재의 진로특성을 고려하여 진로성숙도 전반에 걸친 향상을 위한 집단상담 프로그램을 새롭게 개발하였으며, 초등 영재의 진로지도를 위한 기초자료를 제공했다는데 있다.
이상의 연구결과를 통해 후속연구를 위한 제언을 하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다양한 분야의 영재를 대상으로 그들의 특성과 요구에 맞는 프로그램을 개발할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 초등 영재의 진로성숙도 향상을 위한 집단상담 프로그램은 학교, 사회, 가정이 연계되어 이루어질 때 더 큰 효과가 있을 것으로 보인다. 셋째, 이 연구에서는 프로그램에 대한 단기간의 효과만을 검증하였으므로 보다 장기적으로 계획하여 사후의 효과를 검증한다면 더 많은 도움이 될 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to develop a group counseling program to enhance career maturity of gifted elementary school students and to assess its validity by implementing it.
Main objectives are as follows : developing an effective group counseling program for gifted elementary school students; validating its effect on the students’ career maturity.
Twenty-four gifted 5th and 6th graders from H Elementary School in Gyeong-gi province volunteered for this research. They were divided into two groups; 12 students were in the experimental group and the other 12 students were in the control group.
This counseling program is based on Consultation Program Development Model by Park In-u(1995). The implementation of the program was conducted two times per week in 6 weeks, 12 sessions in total.
‘Holland Career Development Inventory’ of An, Chang-gyu(2003) was put to use for the test tool. For data processing, ‘Mixed ANOVA’ from SPSS/Window 10.0 was used to analyze statistical results. To complement the limits of quantitative research, the analysis of students’ experience reports and counselor’s observations was also presented.
The results from this research are as follows.
First, there were significant differences in improvements of the career maturity between the students who participated in the program and those who did not.
Second, in the analysis of the each subfactors of the program, the ‘career orientation’, ‘occupational appreciation’, ‘occupational sex prejudice’, ‘self-appreciation’, ‘autonomous characteristic’ and ‘self-pride’ factors of the experimental group were significantly different from the control group.
Third, from the results of the analysis of the students’ experience reports and the counselor’s observations, it can be stated that this program had positive impact on improving the gifted students’ career maturity.
The implication of this research is that it provided a new group counseling program which is suitable for the career characteristics of gifted elementary school students, and that it offered the basic information for their career guidance.
For the follow-up studies based on this research results, these are several recommendations. First, the group counseling programs which fit for different types of gifted students need to be developed.
Second, the group counseling program designed to improve the career maturity of gifted elementary school students will have a synergy effect if the school, the community, and the family all get involved.
Third, since this research only inspected the short-term effect of the group counseling program, it will be helpful to devise a long-term study and verify its impact.
